(CNN) – The latest ad from Mitt Romney's campaign hammers rival President Barack Obama for suggesting in an interview he'd appoint a "secretary of business" to consolidate government bureaucracy.
Obama made the proposition during an interview with MSNBC, saying he wanted to "consolidate a whole bunch of government agencies" that deal with various types of American businesses.

"There should be a one-stop shop," Obama said.
The ad from Romney's campaign released Thursday frames the comments as another attempt at big government from the Democratic incumbent, saying Obama's "solution to everything is to add another bureaucrat."
"Why not have a president who actually understands business?" a narrator in the ad says. "Under Obama, millions of people can't find work. And more families on welfare and a record number of Americans on food stamps. Mitt Romney understands business, knows how to create jobs and get our economy moving. He's done it before, he can do it again."
Romney's team isn't the first to criticize the president for the "secretary of business" suggestion – the conservative editorial page of the Wall Street Journal slammed the pitch under the headline "Secretary of Say What?" this week.
Now this is really funny. But when Romney is elected he is going to appoint Clint Eastwood as Secetary of Nice and Sarah Palin as Secetary of Mean. So lead on Fearless one!
Create a position ? You can't make money HIRING people; you've got to FIRE people to bump up profits ! You mean serving people instead of making a profit is the object of Govt. ?
"Why not have a president who actually understands business?"
The failure rate of companies taken over by Bain Capitol was OVER. 20%.
The failure rate of companies helped by Obama's Stimulus was UNDER 10%
If we want a President who understands business, re-elect Obama.
The plan actually makes sense, remove Red Tape at levels far below the president, just look at what is happening in NY & NJ where red tape was removed. However Mr. Romney has been more of a heckler than a presidential candidate so this does not surprise me. I can't wait for another four years when we actually have some choices
And, BTW, romney LIES AGAIN when he claims that the failure rate of companies helped by the Stimulus was 50%.
When you got nothing, LIE.
It is T – 5 days.
Romney would be better served to use his now commonplace and expected spurious, and factless poltical ads to bid his backers and his 25 avid supporters, most of them on this thread, good-bye.
Why wait until his concession speech on the night of November 6th to take care of this? He runs the risk of his voice not being heard over the cuss-out and he is sure to get from the Koch brothers, Addleson, and all the other undisclosed donors that poured MILLIONS upon MILLIONS of dollars into his campaign in exchange for his promise to take care of them and thier businesses once he reached the Oval Office, all for naught. There are going to be a lot of pissed off 1%ers at that gathering. Add to that the loud wails of those he'll put out of blogging work like truth hurts and myviewis.
So Romney should really be doing a GOOD-BYE tour now. His pitbull Gov. Christie got tired of acting like a hateful GOP zombie and is praising his President Obama left and right..
There're no more lies for Romney to tell. He's told them ALL to no avail.
The President meanwhile is taking care of disaster victims, making sure FEMA is doing everything they were designed to do to help, and just being whom he is: natural, and Presidential.
Good-bye Mittens. You're done here.
Obama 2012. Seriously America
Job numbers are up....govt not a business. We need a well rounded leader not a ceo that guts companies for profit. Ive worked since I was 18 im 45 now. Not fooled by romney rhetoric.
What a mirage Romney is !
Mitt Romney understands business, knows how to create jobs and get our economy moving. He's done it before, he can do it again."
Then why doesn't he just stay in business and let those that now how to govern do there job ?
It's so funny that Mitt Romney is running this ad , He's behind in Michigan , Massachusetts and California.
Those are the states he calls home.
Why would I vote for a cantidate that is not liked it his own neighborhood ?
Always a govt program or new govt dept. We need a privets sector answer and the president doesn't have one.
Its more important that a leader has depth of character, grounded thinking and integrity. With these basic tools he can surround himself or herself with like minded people with the skills he'll need to run a country with the diversity of needs that
America must have in order to thrive in the global economy, and its ever changing environments.
Romney has shown he lacks character by not standing his ground on any issue, that might prevent him from gaining the presidency. Ryan well, he sought out a career in politics since the moment he left university, he been so submerged in republican thought processes that I doubt he would even know how to look at something with an open mind. If he thinks that those who showed him the ropes and brought him up through the ranks haven't been manipulating him from the beginning, then he doesn't know his own party.
