Axelrod: Obama closing argument 'from his loins'

Lima, Ohio (CNN) – David Axelrod described the message coming from President Barack Obama days before Election Day as "coming from his loins."

"I've never seen him more exhilarated than he is right now. He believes in what he's doing. He believes in what he's fighting for," Axelrod told reporters Friday after the president's event in Lima, Ohio. "You can see in the speech that he's delivering that this is coming from his loins."

"I just wanted to say loins," the president's senior adviser added with a smirk. "I wanted to see if I can get loins in the story."

Axelrod's comments followed Obama's third campaign event of the day in Ohio, the latest example of the emphasis Team Obama is putting on the state.

The auto bailout is something the president cites as a major first term accomplishment. It has taken center stage here after TV and radio ads from Mitt Romney's campaign criticized the president over saving companies that are now expanding in China. Obama's campaign and auto CEOs have pushed back hard against the charge that Jeep (owned by Chrysler) and GM are now shipping jobs overseas, a message Axelrod perpetuated.

Axelrod said the ads were slipped on Ohio residents "like a thief in the night," and that Romney "got caught." He described the spot as a "risk" for the Romney campaign, necessary because of their precarious path to 270 electoral votes.

"It backfired horribly," Axelrod said.

"A few ads at the end of a campaign isn't a campaign," senior adviser David Plouffe, standing next to Axelrod, told reporters.

Plouffe, exuding electoral confidence, called recent efforts by the Romney campaign in Pennsylvania "fairytale" and said the auto ad will only serve as a reminder of the president's steps to rescue the industry, which provides a significant number of jobs in the Buckeye State.

An "utterly confident" Axelrod said come Tuesday, the Romney campaign "will be left to wonder why the mythical wave never came."

  1. Forward! Yes we are moving forward..

Yes we are moving FORWARD, away from the Bush/Romney/Ryan policies that created the recession, and we are moving FORWARD to green pastures and blue skies, where growth is happening from the middle class out, because President Obama is here for all Americans (The 100% of US)! That's why he was able to cross over the aisle so comfortably with Chris Christie. Romney puts the rich first, President Obama puts the country ahead partisanship and games. Thank you President Obama and Chris Christie for leading by example.

Romney is the axis of evil and does come to your doorstep like "a thief in the night" expecting Americans to be asleep. There's a price to pay for Romney's lies and deception against the American people that he terrorized and I hope they succeed in getting the Department of Ethics to file charges against him, but that depends if Darrell Issa will do the job he's paid to do.

I see that florida's cadaver governor is trying to suppress the vote to keep citizens from voting.
It's easy to feel good when you can win without trying to buy the election and not having to lie like a slimeball to win at all cost.

I certrainly hope people turn out in droves to re-elect Obama. I do not like the vision that Mitt has for Amerrica as it would be a return to the failed GOP policies of the past – tax cuts for the rich, tax increases for the middle class, pay for needless insane wars with SSI, medicare and medicaid funds. Mitt is wrong for America and wrong for the world.

Axelrod is a despicable person and it is a scary thought that he is Obama's puppeteer.
4 more years with this Chicago gang will destroy this country and we can line up behind Greece.

Most importantly the speech is from the President’s heart and his mind.

Romney along with his campaign of Bush/Cheney surrogates spit in the face of hard working middle class Americans, women, seniors and veterans because he considers these people to be the ‘lower caste 47%’ of the country.

Romney has spent the entire day hiding from reporters as he has done for the past month and rallying against recent economic gains. What is this ‘change’ that Romney speaks of? His entire campaign has been based on propaganda, lies and a plan he won’t share in its entirety.

    God Bless You Mr. President.

It is amazing to me that so many people are willing to be deluded by Romney/Ryan & the GOT-Party! Small children & people from other nations can tell Romney is a dishonest extremist, yet Americans are voting for this tax evader/corporate "pirate"! I don't know if it's because they want to be true to their party, are extremists themselves or just don't want a black man as president, but whatever the reasoning, it's not sound! Obama is taking blame for slow recovery, when congress is what slowed that progress w/endless obstruction & filibustering, he's blamed for being divisive & not promoting bi-partisanship, when the GOT-Party took oaths for the 1% & are anti-women, gays, elderly etc. & swore to get Obama out! The Benghazi incident has been critisized ad nauseam & compared to 9/11, which is like comparing a cut on your finger to losing a limb! Meanwhile, Romney lies 'til he believes himself, doubles down on lies, but gets a free pass! I don't understand the skewered logic! Forward, Obama/Biden,Tuesday!!

Is he busy down in Dallas or out on the ranch ?

Romney hasn't taken questions from the press or us little people for the last two weeks .

I am hoping for an Obama win. Mitt , just isn't the man. He doesn't get it, and he never will. In order for him to understand he needs to give up his worldly goods for 30 or 40 days to really understand. He will never understand the common people, he will say the words, but he does not feel it, and it shows.

Just because Lyin Mutt has more ads, and more money, and tells bigger and stranger lies, doesn't mean he gonna change any minds. But I guess it will help keep people stay employed (which ticks mutt him off).

obama/biden 2012 -- I voted early and now help elderly and semi-invalid get to the polls to vote. I take my cell phone and take pics if anyone gives them any harrassment or intimidation. I have evidence. ha ha ha ha h haha ha ha

So far they have just been "True the Vote" bullies, so no one was prevented from voting, but it may have been because of the pics. Who knows?

Everything in the Democratic party is about sex... "loins?" "balls the size of cue balls?" Voting for Obama is like losing one's virginity? This is the office of the Presidency of the United States of America we're talking about, not the host of some crappy MTV show. The lack of class shown by Obama's campaign has been troubling, to say the least.
