Axelrod: Obama closing argument 'from his loins'

Lima, Ohio (CNN) – David Axelrod described the message coming from President Barack Obama days before Election Day as "coming from his loins."

"I've never seen him more exhilarated than he is right now. He believes in what he's doing. He believes in what he's fighting for," Axelrod told reporters Friday after the president's event in Lima, Ohio. "You can see in the speech that he's delivering that this is coming from his loins."

"I just wanted to say loins," the president's senior adviser added with a smirk. "I wanted to see if I can get loins in the story."

Axelrod's comments followed Obama's third campaign event of the day in Ohio, the latest example of the emphasis Team Obama is putting on the state.

The auto bailout is something the president cites as a major first term accomplishment. It has taken center stage here after TV and radio ads from Mitt Romney's campaign criticized the president over saving companies that are now expanding in China. Obama's campaign and auto CEOs have pushed back hard against the charge that Jeep (owned by Chrysler) and GM are now shipping jobs overseas, a message Axelrod perpetuated.

Axelrod said the ads were slipped on Ohio residents "like a thief in the night," and that Romney "got caught." He described the spot as a "risk" for the Romney campaign, necessary because of their precarious path to 270 electoral votes.

"It backfired horribly," Axelrod said.

"A few ads at the end of a campaign isn't a campaign," senior adviser David Plouffe, standing next to Axelrod, told reporters.

Plouffe, exuding electoral confidence, called recent efforts by the Romney campaign in Pennsylvania "fairytale" and said the auto ad will only serve as a reminder of the president's steps to rescue the industry, which provides a significant number of jobs in the Buckeye State.

An "utterly confident" Axelrod said come Tuesday, the Romney campaign "will be left to wonder why the mythical wave never came."

This was the last chance for the party of the angry, white racists to have a shot at the White House. They blew it by picking Romney who has the convictions of an earthworm. Romney has a "plan" to fix the ills of America. He just conveniently chose not to share the "plan" with the voters. His 47% comment was the only honest and truthful thing he has said during the entire campaign and it will be the thing that doomed his chances. I for one could not have imagined looking at that stupid smirk for four years. The one smart thing Romney did this time was not waste his own money propping up his campaign. Queen Ann would have none of it and she is still fuming over it from the millions he wasted in 2008.

Obama has increased the national debt more than all Presidents combined. He has been unable to create jobs and does not care. He lied about ending wars and has killed more soldiers than we lost under Bush. What about Benghazi? Our people reported the terror assault, begged for help and this administration denied them! This ia a SCANDAL that is being swept under the carpet by a liberal pro Obama media. OBAMA LIED, OBAMA FAILED.

Alexrod is probably one the most crooked, devious hatchet men for Obama. I'm voting for Romney - I'll pass on the loins. Alexrod has always given me the creeps. Let's eliminate him too. His "confidence" is bull.

Well, look on the bright side if Obama wins a second term, it will be a long time before another liberal gets elected after 4 more years like the last 4. Even my liberal daughter is starting to question the path we are on. Just goes to show there is hope for the liberal mind.

"from his loins"?? Does this REALLY pass for intelligent speech. The entire Obama administration is an embarassment, to the U.S., and to the world. He needs to go. And, CNN – the American people want details on Bengahzi. If there was a Republican in the white house, you would be non-stop reporting on speculations & probable causes for this fiasco.

Chosing a president isn't that difficult, forget about republicans, democratics, independents and others. Just think who is your enemy based on a simple social and economic condition. If you do that , the answer will be Obama for the majority of americans . And please, remember that a caos a nivel international is caused by our enemies : billonaires, corporations and economists of war. Romney is representing this minority.

Time is at hand. Choose your leader wisely. Despite the trumped up econ numbers all
coming from departments directly report to Obama, economy isn't improving, there is no
massive hiring or even moderate gains and we are 16 trillion counting in deficit. Looming
Obama care will costs small businesses to tighten up and cut hours. And Obama is not
protecting Americans even when they cry for help and protection. Iran is dangerously
getting close to making a bomb with which they can blackmail the world and Mr Obama is
doing little about it. Under his administration America is getting weaker and the world
we face is becoming more dangerous. For your future and your neighbors' please choose wisely.

The same man who told Navy seals to stand down when one of their own were being slaughtered, denied them protection 3 times not counting months before 911. then blamed it on our first amendment for weeks following the 911 attack in Benghazi!

Conventional wisdom dictates that Romney should stay away from comments on the Obama-rescued auto industry, especially in an auto industry state. For a man believed to be an apostle of out-sourcing, laying the shipping-jobs-to-China accusation on Obama is futile and even appears desperate. Surely there must be other smart but pragmatic ways of getting those elusive Ohio votes.

Someone please tell me when and where the POTUS went negative. Because where I come from its not negative to defend yourself against petty filthy lies. The Romney camp has said they wouldn't let facts get in the way of their message. So now it's being negative to call them on all their lies?? No wonder you GOP idiots supported W for 8 years.
