October jobs report: Hiring increases, unemployment up

New York (CNNMoney) - Hiring increased last month, while the unemployment rate ticked higher, according to a report released just four days before the presidential election.

The economy added 171,000 jobs in October, while the unemployment ticked up to 7.9, from 7.8% in September, the Labor Department said Friday.

Good news. More American jobs created than anticipated, and 84K more jobs in Aug/Sept than estimated, along with higher consumer confidence. God bless the USA.

    Forward 2012

Oh boy, get ready for the right wing nut jobs, their conspiracy theories and the name calling. This was not what they were hoping for.

Now, correct the manipulated numbers from last month and it would be around 8.2%.

The October job report shows country is moving in the right direction. Housimg prices up, more job opportunities growing, customer satisfaction up. Why do we need to "change" the course. We are looking FORWARD

The unemployment number increased, this is proof Obama's socialist economic policies are a failure!

More private jobs (5 million) have been created in the last 4 years than the total number of private jobs created in 8 years under the previous republican administration.

I'm sure the Fox machine will find a way to spin this negatively. But in my book, adding 171,000 jobs a month sure as heck beats losing 750,000 or more a month, which is the situation we were in four years ago at this time. Are we better off? By my math, we are about 10.8 million jobs a year better off. Four more years of moving Forward!

That's all CNN has to say, wow, it's going back up, no stability of going down. We need new leadership no more of the same. Open your eyes.

The only way, you can ADD jobs, and still have the unemployment rate RISE, is to have been manipulating the numbers..........which is exactly what the administration has been DOING, for many weeks.

Chris Christie has shown something very interesting this week:

The ability to work across the aisle with the president, and showing that the President knows how to work across the aisle. Also, that it is ok for a Republican to show recognition of a great job being done by the president.

    Message to ALL Moderate Republicans:

To take back the Republican party, you should vote for Obama.

The FAR Right Wing of the party has domonated the politics for the past 2 years.

    The result...gridlock in Washington.

We need politicians to work together to get this country moving again.

The Ryan's, Mourdock's and Atkin's out there will not move our country forward.

The Governors like Chris Christie and the President will move this country forward with bi-partisanship.

    Vote for Moderation 2012!

Let's get our country moving again!

So, Jack Welch! Was this report manupilated too? I am sure the Chicago guys were anxious to have the rate tick up 5 days before the election. Still, the jobs report was grea! Job creation is up no thanks to the Republicans!!! Can you imagine how much better we would be doing if they had not said NO to everything the President proposed!!

Jobs report way better than anyone expected it to be!!!!!!
    1. Job growth increases signifcantly (or as CNN puts it 'accelerates')!!!. Revisions to previous months increased as well!
    2. Income increases and consumer spending continues to grow
    3. housing sales, values and construction up

Flip-flopping Romney: We, the American people, will not be fooled by your negative spin. You and your fellow Republicans prayed for the failure of the American people out of your hatred for our President. We will never forget that. America let's continue to move this country forward and never go back to the failed policies of the Republicans. We, the American people, along with our President will continue to restore and repair this country again.

    Obama/Biden 2012!!!!!

We could have been even better off if congress hadn't been so busy obstructing & protecting the 1%! But we are moving in the right direction, inspite of their efforts to sabotage the Obama presidency, which was the goal of quite a few GOT-Partyers! I'm glad to hear so many voters can see through this scam on the American people! To go back to the old, truly failed policies now, would be madness, especially since it's not clear what the RR's have in store! With "catchwords" like deregulate, repeal, cut funding & abolish, it's pretty easy to figure out that it wont be good! Obama/Biden, Next Tuesday!!
