Battleground Blog: Boehner rallies for 'real recovery'

EDITOR'S NOTE: CNN has sent dozens of reporters, producers, contributors and correspondents to the key battleground states to cover the final days of the 2012 election. The following dispatch is from CNN's Deirdre Walsh who is traveling with House Speaker John Boehner on an Ohio bus tour over this pre-election weekend.

Lebanon, Ohio (CNN)
- When House Speaker John Boehner took the small stage at the first event on his three day statewide bus tour his mission was clear - rally the GOP faithful to get to the polls and make sure this solidly red county turns out in big numbers for GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

"Three more days!" Boehner chanted along with the small crowd of GOP supporters in a parking lot outside the Warren county victory center.

Sporting a red "Real Recovery Road Rally" fleece, the House speaker told supporters it was day 43 of a 45 day trip across the country for the GOP ticket and House Republican candidates.

Boehner's was a much smaller crowd than the almost 30,000 Republican supporters who attended a rally with Romney in Boehner's hometown of West Chester on Friday night.

The speaker stuck to his economic message – saying of the President, "He promised change, he promised post-partisan politics, and you know the fact is he hasn't done what he said he would do."

Voters in Warren County overwhelmingly backed Sen. John McCain four years ago, and Boehner stood in the parking lot just behind GOP Senator Rob Portman's family's hotel the GoldenLamb.

"Have fun – now go work," Boehner told the crowd.

We put republicans in in 2010 based on jobs jobs jobs lies, and they named a post office and gave us abortion bills attached to every jobs bill.

Any informaation that contradicts your own narrow minded beliefs is discarded. This is the mentality republicans depend on for their party to survive.

  5. Romney The Flip-Flopper

Whatever John "Gridlock" Boehner stands for must be tainted, phoney, and self-serving.

Oh yeah, that would be Romney.

this county is a marvel. and believe us not all of us are so republican anymore!
The hate and anger coming from the right have turned a lot of us off!
I know many in this county who have voted for Obama because they are sick
and tired of the behavior around this county lately.

Attention GOP: Yes, a recovery from the Mess you guys made from 2000-2008. Under GOP/Bush/Ryan/Boehner polices we went from a budget surplus to trillion dollar deficit, the Great Recession, 9 million Americans jobs lost, negative econ. growth. Under Obama, his policies turn negative econ. growth to positive econ. growth, 5.2 new American jobs, 32 straight months of private sector job growth, save the country from going into a depression.

When is the press going to tell the truth about the Romney ad that says Chrysler is going to open a Jeep plant in China? The ad is true. It does not say Chrysler is moving jobs to China, it says just exactly what Chrysler is planning to do. Obama is the one who is saying the ad claims Chrysler is moving Jeep jobs to China. Obama is the one telling the lie. The ad does not say that. You only have to do a quick search of Google or Yahoo to verify Chrysler is planning on opening a Jeep plant in China. First article that pops up is from the Detroit news where Chrysler VP Ralph Gilles of Product Design says Chrysler repeatedly has said it has no intention of moving Jeep production to China — merely to add Jeep production there for Chinese buyers. If the Romney ad said Chrysler was moving jobs to China it would be a lie, but the ad does not say that, it says the truth. Where is the press? Does the press care that a company that was bailed out with tax payers money is expanding and creating jobs in China? Millions of Americans do. Where is the press on the truth about this? Protecting and enabling Obama, that's where.

This bloody clown shouldn't even be talking. Hey Deputy Dog Boehner, you keystone copper, where is all the jobs you promise the American people. Talk about an empty suit and pants. All this guy does is use taxpayers money to get a new tan every week, George Hamilton look a like!

Mitts, you are such a fool. You realize congress approval rating is worst the Dubya ever was! You paraded around him, a do nothing, empty pants, but mentioning the name of George W. Bush, you run faster than a Gremlin when sunshine on them!

Three more days MIttens, you can go back to you multi-homes because the home you covet so much, you will have to wait for an invite from the President and it won't be you after November 7!

A man who puts party politics before the nation's problem and did everything to derail Obama presidential
agenda over the four years. Now he is not shy to saying Obama did nothing to usher in the change he
promised. Boehner could be worse than Mitt Romney himself.

the more republicans we vote out the better chances for a quicker recovery. Forward

  16. Boehner...? Real Republicans know better.

Some brass, I tell ya. Boehner ("party of hell no") is the chief obstructionist in Congress. He couldn't get the House to do their job and even raise the debt ceiling (by the way, this was actually part of Congress' job). Boehner and the extremists created our pending fiscal cliff. Four weeks ago Boehner and the extremists stopped a bill that would have given 1 million jobs to veterans. Now he talks about recovery. Some brass, I tell ya.

CNN and other news outlets should stop saying that 30,000 showed up to that Romney rally. According to Politico the Secret Service only counted 15,000 going through the metal detector.

  22. Slightly Left of Center was day 43 of a 45 day trip across the country for the GOP ticket and House Republican candidates.

Really? Is that what he's been doing? Apparently, it wasn't very successful since this is the first I've heard of it. I figured he was golfing, tanning, drinking, and crying, but not necessarily in that order.
