(CNN) – Senior Obama adviser David Plouffe on Sunday argued the politicization of the attack in Benghazi, Libya "has been unprecedented" and invoked George W. Bush to make his case.
Plouffe said when terrorists bombed the U.S.S. Cole in October 2000 - just weeks before the presidential election - then-Republican candidate Bush said "we need to speak with one voice" rather than criticize the Clinton administration.

"And really for that entire campaign, President Bush and Dick Cheney said 'we need to speak with one voice, we need to find out what happened here', and I do think the politicization has been unprecedented," Plouffe said on NBC's "Meet the Press."
Republicans, including presidential nominee Mitt Romney, have harshly criticized the Obama administration's handling of the September 11, 2012 attack on the U.S. consulate in Libya, which left U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans dead.
They've questioned whether the administration provided adequate security ahead of the incident and whether officials misled the public about what led to the attack. Romney has said what occurred in Libya is evidence Obama's policies in the Mideast are unraveling.
On Sunday, Plouffe insisted the administration has been forthcoming about the attack and said the president is committed to making sure the country understands what happened.
When asked if the administration is deliberately waiting until after Tuesday's election to release the findings of its investigation, Plouffe said, "Absolutely not."
Funny the article failed to mention Willard Mitt Romney shut his mouth after he read the secret briefing on the Benghazi terror attack. But why Conservative News Network continues to flame the fire, is it un-American? I say yes.
Hillary Clinton and Obama must be charged with dereliction of duty and treason

It's amazing how Romney supporters are blowing this incident way out of proportion! So much righteous indignation, but romnesia seems to be contaigeous! What happened in Benghazi is a very sad situation, which is under investigation! However, it took place on the anniversary of 9/11–01,1 of the worst terrorist attacks & an unprecedented tragedy! Please put this in perspective! 4 people died while doing their duty in a dangerous job, 4000 people died while going about the business of their lives! Then more people died because W decided 2 wars were needed to avenge the attack! Your previous guy did an unsatisfactory job w/that whole situation & left it up to Obama to get bin Laden! Romney said we shouldn't move heaven & earth for 1 guy! Please remember the reason Benghazi happened in the 1st place!! Obama, Next 4!
No sooner Obama got elected, they said "we will make him a one term president". Now they say "he hasn't accomplished much in the past four years". How can you vote for a party that puts their party first at the cost of the people. Worst of all, you are telling the politicans "bullying" is acceptable.
