Paul Ryan makes case for Romney in Iowa op-ed

(CNN) - Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney's running mate Rep. Paul Ryan urged Iowan's to choose between two starkly different futures in an op-ed in the Des Moines Register.

Making the case for his running mate, Ryan wrote in the op-ed published Saturday that, "Another four years of anemic economic growth, of ever-higher debt and deficits, would guarantee a diminished future for our children."

"On Nov. 7, Iowa can wake up facing four more years like the last four years – or we can be well on our way back to prosperity, opportunity, and economic growth," wrote Ryan. "We hope to have your support, and we are asking for your vote. Together, we can get this done."

Ryan added that while Obama has doubled down on the failed policies of his first term, Romney "offers real change and real reforms for a real recovery."

The Republican ticket "will not duck the hard issues," Ryan wrote highlighting a number of campaign promises from utilizing energy resources to balancing the nation's budget.

"We will not make excuses. We will not kick the can down the road. From Day One, we will lead. We will not spend the next four years blaming others; we will take responsibility and clean up the mess in Washington."

The Des Moines Register announced a surprising endorsement of Romney in late October; marking the first time in 40 years Iowa's largest paper backed a Republican presidential candidate.

Ryan was scheduled to campaign in Ohio, Minnesota and Colorado on Sunday and will stump in the battleground states of Nevada, Colorado, Iowa, Ohio and his home state of Wisconsin on Monday.

If you are 'sipping the Obama Kool-Aid", drink up. If you are a "Rush Head", Limbaugh is always right.
Libertarians, the enemy of your enemy needs your help.
I am talking to the affluent, actually formerly affluent. If you do not live in states Ohio, Florida, Virginia, Colorado,
New Hampshire, Iowa, Nevada, North Carolina or Wisconsin you can stop reading.
Former affluents like me, worked hard all our lives, went to college, got good jobs and climbed
the corporate ladder. Then something happened? CEOs started getting outrageous salaries and jobs started
disappearing overseas? And CFOs became the new four-letter word. CEOs and CFO types can not do
it alone, they need management consulting from Baine and Company to outsource American jobs
and spiral this country into worse depression in history. There are more americans on food stamps
than ever? Thank God for the liberal left wing social programs like Food Stamps and FEMA. Heaven help PBS,
looks like we need a bigger military as we move towards world peace?
CEO's and CFO's created this mess in the USA, lets call it Wreck-It-Romney. Now Wreck-It-Romney
wants to go from wrecking US economy to wrecking countries all over the world? Seriously? I remember the
movie "Willard", "Willard was the king of rats". Willard Romney is the king of CEO rats.
If you want the "rats distributing the cheese" then vote for the CEO and CFO running in this election.
    Emancipate yourself Tuesday!

I am a registered independent, I am sick and tired of the republicans’ isolationism, they have opposed everything “many good things” Obama tried to do for the country during the past 4 years. This presidential election I will be voting for Obama, and I will be voting democratic across the board, may be this way the government will be functional again, and have a better chance to getting things done.

I'm quite certain Obama will win Iowa. The wonderful people of that state are very smart & pragmatic and I'm sure they see right through the duplicitous, deceitful rhetoric that comes out of Romney's mouth.

Paul Ryan has spent 14yrs in Congress so far. Obama spent 5yrs in Senate and 4yrs as president. What record can Paul Ryan be proud of? They are all bad apples and wonder why Romney didn't pick a Washington outsider as running mate.

Let's talk about the damage the republican controlled administration caused on people's 401k. Most people have yet to recover from the average loss of 38% in a portfolio, even when the rate of return has been in the double digits for greater part of the past 3 1/2 years.

Sure, believe Pau Ryan, the guy who lied about his marathon time, who trashed the stimulus but asked for stimulus money, who voted to decrease security spending for our overseas representatives and whose budget cuts everything from nutrition to education for those who need it most.

What this thirsty sidekick meant to say is: look forward to four years of poverty, offensive messages/threats to minorities, and billionaires and millionaires getting an even bigger piece of OUR pie. Isn't that what you meant to say liar? The Ryan/Romney ticket is not an option as far as I'm concerned and the quicker they depart the national stage the better.

Did Mr. Ryan tell the good people of Iowa what he was doing in Washington? Did he tell them that he and his fellow Republicans decided not to do anything that would help the President to get re-elected so they just did nothing. They did not even produce a budget which was outrageous. Mr. Ryan's budget would not pass because it was not mathematically feasible. We need to hear the truth from both sides. We need our elected officials to do their jobs or else they need to step down.

Romney why don't you speak out and ask republicans congressmen, yah know the racist ones just why they held voters hostage for the four years to make Pres.Obama a one term president, tell me while you're at it because you'll be working with the same racist that the president did and get nowhere either!!Turned down jobs, infastructure, vets and drought assistence for farmers but voted 34 times to overturn Obamacare, does that make sense..It's because their racist arrogence that we're still going at a snails pace to help the economy,so blame your republicans not Pres.Obama and you'll see a different president who'll be reelected, you'll know why and he'll take no prisoners!!!

Yeah your kids are in the same category as 98% of the other kids in America are they. Those words are meant to scare the electorate, and that's all. Your kids won't have to watch their parents scrapping by just to feed their family, your kids will have good dental, your kids will be going to private schools. Don't you dare say our children, that's a bold face lie.

Helluva campaign Romney is running. When in doubt- lie. Leaving a last impression-lie. Even if what they ascert about Obama and the last 4 years were true, doing what these guys recommend would gut the middle class. Don't worry, though, a few more tax cuts will keep the rich just a-hummin' along.

There has been a slow (slower than most people would like) recovery. I don't see how Romney's plan can really do what he say it will do because it hasn't worked before.

"...or we can be well on our way back to prosperity, opportunity, and economic growth...“ Ryan wrote.
    …IF WE REELECT PRESIDENT OBAMA!
What the GOP has to offer is voter suppression because they cannot convince enough voters and then right back into a trickle down economy that has lead us all to the BRINK! They really have some nerve to ask us to vote for that again – they must be feeling the country is ripe for harvesting (Halliburton ring a bell?) after the people and the President dug us out of the hole the GOP led us to and left us in just four years ago!
We do not want to suffer again at the hands of the GOP – we want to move FORWARD! Do more, get better! Please, get out the vote! FOR THE LOVE OF OUR COUNTRY – VOTE STRAIT "D" TICKET!
