Long lines, sporadic snags in U.S. election

(CNN) - Long lines and sporadic problems with voting machines caused snags in some key states during Tuesday's closely watched U.S. election.

Voters waited for two hours in northern Virginia and three hours in some parts of south Florida, leading some people to walk away before casting a ballot.

Wow, this could be a big deal. South Florida and north Virginia are both democratic strongholds in key swing states.

Funny how this happens in states that Romney absolutely needs, but is trailing.

Trust me, Republicans are staying, voting and sending this President home to Chicago.

Keep warm Obama's, it's might cold in Chicago during January.

Don't let those traitors take your rights away from you. This is exactly what they want to happen and exactly what Willard was counting on when he kept saying, "When I'm president." This is exactly why he has been acting like a spoiled, pompous schoolboy and didn't care what anyone said. They had a contingency plan. So sad.

    OBAMA 2012!

"Voters waited for two hours in northern Virginia and three hours in some parts of south Florida, leading some people to walk away before casting a ballot."

    GOP state governments: "Mission Accomplished."

    Those are both Dem strongholds.

Unfortunately, there are those that cannot afford to wait those long hours to vote. They have a living to earn. These are likely the people most likely to vote dem.

When the Republican lies don't work, there's always voter fraud and suppression, right GOP? Why does the right-wing hate America and democracy so much?

Like I said, if all else fails (including your voter ID laws) but you still control the state gov't, you know how many voting machiens are likely to be needed based on turnout from the last election, so just send too few machines to areas that vote for the other party and you're all set. Expect a polling center to have 30,000 voters turn up to vote? Send it 5 machines, 2 of which break down. Simple. VA and FL are all over "Plan B."

Ohio Voter caught voting machine recording a vote for Romney when he was voting for Obama. He reported it and machine was taken out. Is this how they will win? Cheating is not winning. What kind of example does this set?

It's a right not to be taken for granted. The Gop learns a valuable lesson today. We may be silent, but we hear you. What made Republicans think they could scare and lie to us.

What about the ginormous portrait of Obama at the Philly polling place? Oddly enough, CNN hasn't reported that.

Ah, you can already smell the excuses for an Obama lost. It will be ; voter suppression that allowed Romney to win. He stole the election.

Spolier ALERT : Dems, brace yourself, you are about to lose the White House.

Oh, Spoiler ALERT 2 : You will lose the senate in 2014.

A lot of people are quick to play the voter suppression card but do you really think that Republicans somehow slowed the process to create long lines? People are really losing their heads with the voter suppression accusations. Yes, these are democratic strongholds but they are also highly populated areas that always have long lines. It's too bad that realities of life have caused some to have to leave the lines but the local governments in these areas and the staffers at the polls are overwhelmingly liberal in those regions. This is not a conspiracy, lets not lose our minds, put down the tinfoil hats and we'll all peacefully elect a leader.

It's not like Election Day is a surprise.....You think it would have been better organized...

It's time the US have a Federal body who organizes elections....up here we are in and out of the voting booth in about 10 min. That way, the rules are the same for everyone.

One thing I have noticed which explains some of the hold up is the number of questions on the ballot. Those things can be huge. Voting shouldn't be so complicated.....
