FULL STORY(CNN) - CIA Director David Petraeus submitted his resignation to President Barack Obama, citing personal reasons, a U.S. government source told CNN.
The source said Petreaus admitted to an extra-marital affair.
In a statement issued Friday, he said: "After being married for over 37 years, I showed extremely poor judgment by engaging in an extramarital affair. Such behavior is unacceptable, both as a husband and as the leader of an organization such as ours. This afternoon, the President graciously accepted my resignation."

In his first public comments since winning Tuesday's vote, Obama expressed openness to negotiate with Congress on how to deal with pending tax hikes and spending cuts that create the so-called fiscal cliff facing the economy at the end of the year.

(CNN) - President Barack Obama is inviting bipartisan leaders from the Senate and the House of Representatives for a White House meeting, a senior administration official confirmed Friday.
A Democratic aide says the invitation was extended for next Friday to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, House Speaker John Boehner and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.

Washington (CNN) - House Speaker John Boehner declined to give any details on what ground Republicans could give in negotiations with the White House on the fiscal cliff, but continued his post-election emphasis that he is willing to compromise.
"I don't want to box myself in and I don't want to box anyone else in," Boehner told reporters on Capitol Hill at his first news conference since Tuesday's election.

The 36-year-old attorney hand-delivered the document Wednesday to the Texas Ethics Commission, the agency that oversees campaigns for state offices, including state senators, state legislators and statewide positions.

Washington (CNNMoney) – Most of the $36 million that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce spent on its pro-business agenda this election went down the drain.
According to federal records compiled by the Center for Responsive Politics, a watchdog group, $29 million of the money was spent in races that the Chamber's favored candidate lost.
