Obama: Republican criticism of Rice 'outrageous'

Washington (CNN) - President Barack Obama called out Republican Sens. Lindsey Graham and John McCain for their "outrageous" comments saying they would block U.S. ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice if she is nominated for secretary of state.

"If Senator McCain and Senator Graham and others want to go after someone they should go after me," Obama said at a White House news conference on Wednesday. "When they go after the U.N. ambassador apparently because they think she's an easy target, then they've got a problem with me."

Republican men it seems have very little problem attacking women....or suggesting what they do with their personal lives. I guess that is why the have lost the women's vote.

The GOP may want to rethink their love of obstruction. 2014 will give America another chance to clean house in the Senate and the House. You just might receive another nasty shock and find yourselves outnumbered. Get your overpaid butts to work and get 'er done!

What a travesty, Senators. You are working on new want a Watergate or Waterloo? Do I remember correctly that your party was designing a Waterloo for President during Health reform debate? You also were very busy trying to make him a one term President at the expense of American people. And how did that work out? You will NEVER be able to outplay him. You will NEVER be able to outsmart him – haven’t you learned it yet, you two pathetic, miserable, vindictive losers?

"I guess that is why the have lost the women's vote."

Doesn't look like they will be getting it back anytime soon. Not with McCain and Graham once again on a rampage.

Bring on the hearings! It will be Fast & Furious II - throw some light on what really happened and the American public will see how much the Republicans and their Fox News enablers have ginned this story up - it's all smoke and mirrors and fake outrage over details that mean nothing. Sad, because the four Americans who died deserve so much more than the ridiculous partisan sideshow that McCain, Graham and Ayotte are giving them. How about hearings on a real Libyan or Syrian policy, Senators? How about some real foreign policy heavy lifting, for a change?

No I dont think race is fueling John Mccain. . I think the fact that he lost to a black man fuels his bitterness. Yes they should investigate what happened and tell us the truth. No I dont think the bitter sore loser should be leading the pack. No matter what they find he wont be satisfied because the fact remains he lost and never got over it. If the american people really respected him they would have picked him. They didnt move on!

I had the pleasure of firing off an email to McCain and Graham just now reminding them that they are THE LOSERS of this election. It is time for them to quit yammering at President Obama and work with him to fix our country. There are way too many crises taking place now; we need positive action, not negative bs from tired old men. They lost; they're done; move on.

  15. it must be said

what is outrageous is that obama or one of his political hacks knowingly lied to Rice and then sent her out on the national talk shows, 5 of them, to spread the lies and deceit. they didn't care if they ruined her career and reputation. it was all needed to protect the dear leader. she was expendable. Rice should reconsider who she places her trust in. if she wasn't an ignorant pawn, then she was an active participant in the coverup. it is one or the other.

but one thing is for certain... obama is doubling down on lies, lies, lies hoping the lsm will continue to carry his water.

John McCain and Lindsey Graham are two senators that have zero credibility and are part of what's wrong with Washington. They are an embarrassment to the people of AZ and SC and should be voted out of office

@Ancient TEXAN,get your facts straight bud,Colin Powell was told to feed the lies to the United Nations and both houses not Bush. They trusted Powell and never questioned his sincerity, honesty something Bushs and Cheney never had.Just a money scam with Halliburton killing thousands of innocences of our military as well as civilians in Iraq. Are you proud that only 30% of republicans ever served in any branch of the military compared to 70% of democrates, that's why Democrates always fight against war, they've seen it before something the chicken hawks haven't but pretend too, typical ignorents as you ole ancient racist one!!

Well, the GOP did fail miserably at "making him a one-term president" so why not target a lower level person in hopes the "party of stupid people" forget that the GOP FAILED IT'S PRIMARY MISSION!!! LOL Grow up GOP.

Of course they have a problem with him. He is a socialist democrat and they are republican capitalists and never the twain shall meet ... Meanwhile the country continues to spiral into the toilet under his administration. Note that I did not say leadership(which he desperately lacks) and as a FORMER Obama voter and supporter it is painful to watch.

Everybody should be critiquing Rice for going on 5 talk shows in one day a week after the Bhengazi incident to lie and cover up.
Nothing to do with race , gender or party affiliation.
That was outrageous , Mr. President.!!!!!!!!

Wow, there they go again, it's no wonder blacks, latinos and many other minorities don't trust the GOP, they campaign as if the minority vote doesn't matter and "IT DOES" clearly, and now they have veteran GOP senators piping off about blocking confirnation of a minority player, who has not even been hinted as nominated for a cabinet post yet–must the GOP be so overtly prejudice, Geez!, when will you learn? Oh I know, how about in 2014 we (American people) send you packing.
