Jeb Bush, Jr. hopes dad will run for president

(CNN) – Jeb Bush, Jr., the son of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, said Tuesday morning he "certainly" wants his dad to run for president.

Asked on CNN's "Starting Point with Soledad O'Brien" if he wants to see his father make a White House bid, Bush said, "I don't know. No comment. I certainly hope so."

"Giving you the full loaf of bread right there," he continued, smiling.

Jeb Bush, the former governor, flirted with a presidential bid last year, but declined to run. With high popularity in the Hispanic community–his wife is from Mexico and he speaks Spanish–his name has resurfaced as a strong contender in 2016, now that many in the party say the GOP needs to better connect with Latinos.

"We really have to work on our ground game, have to work on our messaging," Jeb Bush, Jr. said Tuesday.

He pointed to his uncle, former President George W. Bush, as an example of someone who "showed that you can be successful with Hispanics and be Republican."

"He showed up in Hispanic communities. He spoke a little Spanish," he continued. "I think that candidness really came across well. (Sen. John) McCain and Gov. Romney didn't do a good job, but I think in 2016 we'll hopefully have a candidate that certainly focuses on that."

He also weighed in on Sen. Marco Rubio's controversial comments about the age of the earth, which Rubio argued was one of "the great mysteries" on Monday.

"It was a strange question and I guess kind of a head-scratching type of answer," he said. "We've got to be a pro-science and pro-technology party. I think Marco Rubio is just that. But we also can't forget about our traditional values."

Rubio has repeatedly said he considers Jeb Bush, Sr., to be his close friend and mentor.

Meanwhile, Jeb Bush, Jr.'s brother, George P. Bush, has taken steps to run for a statewide office in Texas.

Oh yeah, oh yeah. PLEASE, GOP. Nominate Jeb. It's a DNC dream. Maybe he'll pick Newt for his running mate and we can wrap the whole election up by Sept. 2016.

After the miserable failures the last 2 Bushes were I doubt we will ever see another Bush in the White House. Conservatives might be stupid enough to vote for another Bush but the rest of us aren't...... G.W. should be behind bars along with his puppet masters Rove, Cheney & Rumsfeld. They know they did this country and its people wrong thats why you don't see any of them in public anymore. They are probably terrified that a REAL patriot will try to take them out.

Anybody that would be stupid enough to actually vote for another member of that family for any job other than lunch lady or parking garage attendant should be sterilized....

I say let him run, so that the American people can finally put the Bush family where they belong: In the dust bin of history as a presidential hopeful. Make our day Jeb. I will live for the day to stand in line no matter how long to vote for your opponent.

As far as I am concern, people like Jeb Bush, Gingrich, Juliani (Mr. 911) all need to disappear into the political wilderness and off my tv screen. Can't stand to watch them pontificate as if I really care. Thanks God for the remote control and the mute button.

Lame stream media......is that the same media that handled the vulture capitalist Willard Mitt Romney with kid gloves, that carried his water for him, the same media that completely disavowed anything anyone would say against Willard??

Please turn FOX NOISE off, it's rotting your brain.

As for Jeb, we know he ain't W, but we also remember he stole the election for him.

It will never happen... The left wing main stream liberal media has so villanized GWB, that any other Bush doesn't stand a chance.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The media didn't villainize the previous occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue – he did that all by himself!

They need to git rid of all the nut jobs if they want to be taken seriously. And they will not call out the limbaughs the palins the sheldons the norquists the trumps the kotch bros or fox news. So untill they do who cares what they think or what ideas they have.? They are the party of clowns and will not be taken seriously untill they take a second look at their squirley policies and agenda and they way they view the majority of hard working Americans.

Jeb is the smartest and most logical Bush there is. He will definitely be at the top of the GOP candidates list and will probably be the one to be selected to tun against the democrats in 2016. He did not agree with many and much of his brothers decisions about policies and the wars. He is not like a Bush at all and should be given the respect he was given from the stat of Florida when he was Governor. Whether you agree or not don't bash the man personally, we are so tired of that stuff in this Country.

comments from the right on these posts, continues to amaze me. lol – well, I guess when the 2014 mid – terms comes around, we will see who was right or not . ( Regarding to what the majority of people in this country wants )

one would think that they would know that the demographics are changing – the electorate is changing – the Voters Are Much Younger – wonder what they are going to think when the people that are currently 18 – 35 – – – when 2024 rolls around ? who do you think they are most willing to Vote For ? ( surely not somebody that wants to take us back to 2000 or 2004 , do you )

Republicans were united like never before with their hate for Obama....look how it turned out, they lost the electorate by over 100...Until the Republicans purge the 'socialist, Palin, teanut, birther nonsense" they will never be a viable party again. They have gone so far right that they just don't appeal to moderate America anymore. And they are doubling down on the crazy, just look at the treatment of Romney, groups pushing for a Palin nomination and now here we go with Bush again..these people have become the definition of insanity.

Yes, we want Bush and a guy Rubio who says God made Earth 10,000 years ago, and that thousands of humans conspired for months to secretly manufacture millions of fake dinosauer bones.

These same conspirators then worked for months to bury these bones deep in the Earth using tractors and heavy machinery.

This all occured in 1614, and no one but Rubio has caught on to this huge fraud.
