Accomplished and determined, Susan Rice at center of political storm

Washington (CNN) – At one time, Susan Rice seemed to be on a trajectory that would take her to the secretary of state's office in President Barack Obama's second term.

But the confusing timeline that she and the Obama administration have offered around the deadly September attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya, might have altered that political course, begun years ago with the help of a powerful family friend.

This Benghazi issue is the most biggest BS that GOP idiots are making inexorable needless onslaughts.

Yes, Susan Rice is accomplished and determined. It would be beneficial to Kelly Ayotte's own "career" to stop and soul search before she continues her own course of action regarding Susan Rice. Senator Ayotte isn't on the firm standing she apparently thinks she is. Following the footsteps of temper tantrum, foot stomping, sour grapes McCain isn't a winning program. Sucking up to Romney was bad enough. Becoming McCain's new BFF - while amusing - is very foolish politically.

    Oh good grief!

Just this afternoon, McCain asked how it could be that we quickly knew so much about the raid to get bin Laden, yet did not know as much about the raid in Benghazi.

Here's a clue for you: WE planned the bin Laden raid for over a year AND watched it in real time as it took place.

Does that help? FYI, you old codger: we still didn't have completely accurate info as to the exact sequence of events, and who was hiding where, etc, in the bin Laden raid for months.....even though we watched it in real time. Even with the U.S. controlling as many variables as possible, the situation on the ground is still fluid and can change in an instant in ways that require lots of hard intelligence analysis to reconstruct accurately.

Mindless Senators, however, are still free to spout off whatever lame brained thoughts pop into their wizened domes...without proof. (Proof is part of that fact-based world that you ignore, McCain.)

I think Senator McCain just wants to feel relevent and to soak up that spotlight.

Accomplished and determined?? How about incompetent and deceptive. The American people and the families of the victims deserve answers and transparency – isn't that one of the things Obama promised? I think he also promised that we wouldn't be the blue states or the red states, but the.... how's that playing out, folks?

Zero support for her from this citizen.

She should NOT be Secretary of State.

When I 1st observed Dr. Susan Rice in 2008 as a foreign policy advisor to then candidate Obama, I was skeptical that she had the public imagery and politicking skills to be Secretary of State. To be sure, her superior intellect was clear; she could NRVER be impuned for the caliber of her policy awareness.

Over the years, she has continued to develop the "softer skills" necessary to navigate the House & Senate and now finds herself, rightfully on the cusp of following Hilary Clinton.

By sending her to McCain with the Director of the CIA, the President is signaling that he will employ organizational political hand-to-hand combat to defend Dr. Rice. McCain. Ayotte, & Graham are directly challenging the power of the Presidency by their unprincipled opposition to this highly qualified woman. It seemss clear to me that the vendetta against Dr. Rice is personal, She must have criticized McCain in 2008 and cut him deep.

Indeed. Start the search, Kelly. You need to find a soul.

Accomplished and determined? How about incompetent and deceptive. The lies also apply to the current Secretary of State – why was Hilary claiming it was the video – and in an ad in Libya? Who paid for that ad?? Questions continue – no clear answers. Where's the Obama administrations transparency – that he promised? He also promised – "not the blue states, or the red states, but......" How's that playing out, folks?

To be fair, the elderly get confused easily and have bad circulation and it's mighty warm under the bright light.

There was a video feed, being streamed to the DS Operations Center, at State, showing there was no protest, there was a subsequent feed from the drone overhead,

    Brass tacks:

Want to know what makes the GOPers/Teatrolls most angry about the idea of Susan Rice being SoS? Guess where I'm going with this hehe...guess....poke poke poke....

Yep. Last thing the GOP/Teatrolls want is the diplomatic "face of America" to be brown. It subconsciously reminds them of the fact that America will be majority "brown" and that they can't do anything about it.

I hope Obama appoints Susan Rice the Secretary of State position despite the GOP BS. Obama should double down on his appointment intention just to upset the GOP. Everything the GOP has fought for has been wrong for America looking back in hindsnight. Susan Rice's potential nomination will be no different. The GOP is the only Party who puts politics ahead of principle.

I hope Obama nominates her. She's as good as the next person, who wants the postion. Maybe there will be some openings in the republican congress, if she gets the nod, especially if McCain or Graham has some type of stroke, from Rice being nominated.

She's "sent out" by the White House (just before election day) to parrot talking points and talks about Al Qaeda being "decimated" when she knows it isn't true. That's the intellectual honesty and independence were looking for in a Secretary of State? Don't blame it on racism or sexism. People killed, Liberals look the other way.

Liberals would be having a cow if (under a Republican administration) we had dead diplomats followed by misleading statements right before an election. How exactly is this different from Watergate? (oh yeah, nobody died due to incompetence during Watergate).

I want to know what happened on 9-11-2001 on US soil that killed over 3,000 Americans, I want answers now, Mr. McCain before you and your cronies discuss what happened in 2012 with Benghazi. Americans and the deceased families still don't have that answer, Mr. McCain, their children deserve answers, those who never will grow up knowing their parents.

It is absolutely ridiculous for anyone to think the President would sit idly by and allow a fellow Americans to be killed, how soon do the Republicans forget the WMD as well as that football player who left the NFL to fight for his country and be killed from friendly fire and the Bush Administration lied to the world about his death and NO ONE has yet to answer for that, do lets move on from the political posturing and prevent the situation from ever happening again.

John McCain of Arizona, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire .

Where were they when Former National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice was appointed by GW Bush to be Secretary of State ? They never dragged her over the coals. She was not only unqualified but negligent in regards to NSA and FBI information leading up to 9/11/01

McCain , Graham and Ayotte , need only Darrell Issa to complete there witch hunt.
