Jobless claims decline as Sandy impact wanes

New York (CNNMoney) – The number of people filing for unemployment benefits for the first time declined last week, a sign that the impact of Hurricane Sandy on jobs is starting to wane.

The Labor Department reported that 393,000 filed for initial jobless claims during the week, down from the 416,000 who sought help the previous weeks.

The infrastructure damage from Sandy is still being felt. We are still experiencing intermittent failures on cable, telephone land lines, electrical power surges, and boil water notices.

But remember too there'll be a boost in job hirings in weeks to come in the construction, infastructure fields and others related to this catastrophe.Homes ,buildings have to be torn down, new ones put in its place and people will be needed, that's life after a storm of such a destructive nature..So even thou its a hardship on most it'll be a boom for others that were previously unemployed ,that's karma and we as a nation have gone thru it many times before and we'll go through it again,we're resilient because we're Americans...God Bless all and happy holidays!!

Wait until January. Once the holiday temps lose their temp jobs, the numbers will shoot back up.

================================================================================================There's nothing a mindless Fox News drone hates worse than good economic news. I saw on a previous posting you considered the recent economic growth data to be manipulated by the Democrats to produce good results. Ahhh... a conspiracy... Right-wing radicals just love those... By the way... when are the black Suburbans sent by Hillary Clinton coming to get my guns? Is the President going to declare Islam the National Religion before or after the Inauguration? Keep us posted!
