(CNN) – Former Rep. J.C. Watts, who has indicated interest in running for the Republican National Committee chairmanship, suggested he could help his party build relationships with diverse voters. RNC members, however, have dismissed the idea of Watts unseating chairman Reince Priebus with skepticism, disbelief and even a hint of ridicule.
“I think God likes diversity. So if it’s good for God it ought to be good for Republicans,” he said on CNN’s “Erin Burnett OutFront.” “But the fact is its hard to have perspective and it’s hard to have diversity with women or black or red or yellow or brown or white if you have no relationships.
“And if I don't know the chairman of the Republican National Committee, I have no confidence that he has any relationship” with black, white, or Hispanic voters, he said.
I don't th GOP is ready or willing to see diversity in their ranks. It is going to be hard for them to swollow it.

Sure you can. Just look at all the diversity Michael Steele bought in before they USED him and threw him out. The truth is, republicans aren't interested in bringing diversity into their party (they like it just the way it is), the only problem is they can't win elections with just "pure white people" anymore, so they're pretending to open up their tent to "those people" who they've always thought of as lazy, cancers on society. If Watts is really serious about "increasing diversity", he better start by telling Boehner to quit the TP and increase taxes on those making more than $250,000. That would show me he's more than just a joke to the Party of No.
WOW a repub with common sense
Nice thought. A diverse GOP ain't gonna happen for at least another couple of years but nice thought nonetheless.
Not unless the GOP/RNC changes its policies
