Eva Longoria lands inauguration role

(CNN) - President Barack Obama's second inauguration will again include a "national day of service" and his inaugural committee includes honorary chairman roles for the four living ex-presidents, the committee announced Thursday.

Obama's public inauguration events will take place on Monday, January 21, 2013, though he will be officially sworn in for his second term of office on January 20. The U.S. Constitution specifies a presidential term begins at noon on January 20th. The public events however will be held the next day because the 20th is a Sunday.

Officials from the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority have predicted as many as 800,000 people will use public transportation on inauguration and the preceding two days, a drop from the 1.5 million people WMATA said it transported around the last inauguration in 2009.

Former Presidents Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and George W. Bush will serve as honorary co-chairmen of the weekend. The event chairs include top officials of Obama's 2012 re-election campaign.

Actress Eva Longoria, a co-chairwoman of his campaign, and former U.S. Ambassador to Sweden Matthew Barzun, the national finance chairman of Obama's campaign, will serve as co-chairs of the Presidential Inaugural Committee. They will be joined by Jane Stetson, the national finance chairwoman of the DNC, and Frank White, who served on the Obama administration's National Advisory Council on Minority Business Enterprises.

Several top staffers from Obama's campaign will lead key aspects of inaugural weekend events.

His campaign manager, Jim Messina, will head the inaugural parade, while campaign deputies will lead efforts such as the national day of service, inaugural balls.

On the Saturday before his inauguration, Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, and members of each of their families will participate in a national day of service. They will encourage "Americans across the country to organize and participate in service projects in their communities," the committee said.

I agree with you Dutch. Horrible picture of our President.
Sniffit you old dog you! She is beautiful though, isn't she?!
Eva deserves the honor. The Latino Get Out The Vote effort was outstanding under her leadership and so effective that even the Cubans voted for Obama.

Rick McDaniel, you could not be more wrong if you tried with all your might.

Subversives are people like Donald Trump who violate the acts of sedition in calling for a rebellion.

Educate yourself, then come back to the adult table.

Good thing Desperate Housewives is over because I can't stand looking at her anymore....A couple years ago I read an article where she said it is so hard being so pretty....really and how do you feel about yourself?

    To Kenin Texas,

You certainly have a different definition for loser. Cause inn my book: 332 electoral voted vs 204,
60,2M popular votes vs 59,1M, this is what we called a winning election! President Obama went BIG and get over it.

Ahhh payback, Longoria gets this and Wintour gets UK Ambassador – ain't politics grand. Wonder what SJP and Clooney will get . . . perhaps France for SJP (it is the home of Haute Coutoure after all making SJP eminently qualified for the Ambassador role as is Wintour for the UK) and Sudan (Darfur) for Georgie (he seems to be attached to Darfur and this way he can really sink his teth into it, again can't argue with his qualifications . . . ).

Funny...I used to like Clint Eastwood a lot more before the thing with the chair. Celebs should avoid chairs and politicians. Bad combination.

FOUR "HIGH PROFILE LATINA CELEBRITIES" CONNECTED TO OBAMA'S 2012 CAMPAIGN

Has anybody noticed the influx of high profile Latina celebrities in support of the Obama administration? Rosario Dawson, Eva Longoria, Eva Mendes, and Rosie Perez have all been connected with the 2012 campaign to re-elect President Obama.

Something tells me that immigration reform is next up for the "community organizer". Way to go President Obama, keep building those alliances.

I have no idea who the dude is to the right of Eva. At any rate, they both need to start paying more taxes. Obama said I deserve more for doing nothing, so I am listening to the President.

The Republican Party is falling off the cliff...I doubt they win the 2016 election...the minority population increases every year...and the republican policies just get crazier...the republicans have always catered to the rich...and I think more Americans are starting to realize it...if a mixed raced democrat won 2 elections...imagine what a woman and a latino could do in the 2016 election with the increase of minority population every year.
