(CNN) - Mitt Romney ended his political battle a month ago, but the former GOP presidential nominee took in a different kind of fight Saturday: a non-title bout in Las Vegas between boxers Juan Manuel Marquez and Manny Pacquiao.
Romney shook Pacquiao's hand before the fight, wishing him success in the match. Pacquiao himself is also a politician, serving as a congressman in his native Philippines. He has endorsed some American politicians, including Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, a Democrat.
According to a tweet from Greg Bishop, who covers boxing for the New York Times, Romney greeted Pacquiao in the locker room after the bout, telling the defeated fighter: "Hello Manny. I ran for president. I lost."
The fight came to an end 2:59 into the sixth round, after Marquez landed a right hand to Pacquiao's face, knocking him cold late Saturday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
Pacquiao went down face-first and lay motionless for a while, possibly unconscious, before eventually sitting up. It was called a technical knockout and Marquez declared the winner.
Pacquiao shook Marquez' hand.
The fight was originally scheduled for 12 rounds. Both fighters scored knock-downs earlier in the fight with Marquez putting Pacquiao on his back and Pacquiao tipping Marquez enough off of his feet to cause one of his gloves to touch the mat.
CNN's Ben Brumfield and Jill Martin contributed to this report.
lol, liberals are a funny bunch, even after the election is over, they still need the bad guy. Truth is liberalism can't stand on its own two feet, it always needs someone to bash and blame.
Why do I find Mitt/Ann watching adult men beating the 'crap' out of each other...disgusting if not disturbing....
Bribarian, you are a funny person. The candidate of your party lost to a president when the unemployment rate was 8%, and you can still laugh about the situation. LOL.
who wears a suit and tie to a boxing match?
I really like then Pac Man. I hate he lost. I guess it's time for Marquez to take on Floyd Mayweather.
Kind of funny how Romney's handshake was the "kiss of death" for Pacquio....... :)
Who cares? Is he still eating at Wendys? That is about as relevant.
Going to a boxing match is about as tacky and low class thing as you can do. I'm surprised little Annie puts up with it. Must be a clear sign of their continuing depression that they go slumming like that.
a suit and tie at a boxing match? Wow!
Why do we care what Romney is doing? He lost! The country clearly rejected him, Ryan and their ideas. So, why would we care if he is at a right, the gas station....where he was pictured, or anywhere else? Again....he LOST in an electoral landslide!
Poor pacquiao. As soon as Mutt showed up ringside, he was done. Bad omen having that puke of a man nearby.
Romney like Pacquiao was defeated sure, but this setback is short term. In fact, this is a defining moment for both. Their legacy will be known more through humanitarian and philanthropic causes. Thank you for your strenght in character and passion to help people.
I always knew this guy was not a Christian! How can you encourage one man to beat the brains out of another?
He was just dying to see someone else get the stuffing knocked out of them.
Poignant Q: Why Is This Not News When George Clooney Sits In A Ringside Seat?
Think about that.
How long do we have to hear all about what the Romney's are doing.
Is the media now going to report any and every little thing they do?
We have had just enough of the draft dodger Romney and his queen wife.
Please just let them go off into oblivion. They are not worth writing about.
I love liberism...and so do millions of others.

First Romney shook Pacquiano and then Marquez knockouts Pacquiano to end the fight.
Boy Romney just can't win, and to be honest his luck is so bad I would never want him to shake my hand. I would be jinxed from then on.
Is that a Saturday Night Live show
LMAO. Everything Romney touches goes to crap these days. I thought Pacman was dead for a few seconds! Note to the wise...do not shake Romney's hand!
i am probably the last to post this... but where is his flag lapel?
when can we get rid of that pandering ruse.....
haha im glad romney lost, he can take his bad luck and ill gotten wealth to the islands!!!
Wow, this is character where you go and watch people being beat up? Glad he lost for sure now! I mean, you would have thought he had gotten this fighting people out of his system after college.
Came to CNN from Politico. They had the same story on their site. I scrolled down to glance at some of the comments and I could not believe the hate-filled comments directed towards Romney. The man lost. He graciously conceded and wished President Obama, Michelle and their two daughters the best. Then he returned to private life. The liberals are still demonizng him, villifying him and wishing him dead. The man lost. The body is dead. You don't have to keep dancing on it. Politics aside, Romney is a nice man. Liberals must always have someone to hate. It truly is amazing.
