Susan Rice withdraws from consideration as secretary of state

(CNN) - Susan Rice, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations who drew heavy criticism from Republicans over her statements after the September attacks on a U.S. diplomatic mission, withdrew her name from consideration for secretary of state on Thursday.

In a letter to President Barack Obama, she said "the confirmation process would be lengthy, disruptive, and costly - to you and to our most pressing national and international priorities. That trade-off is simply not worth it to our country."

So McCain and his buddies managed to "bully" her from being considered. Wow......way to go tough guys......I wonder how you sleep at night or even look at yourself in the mirror. Too bad.......I would have enjoyed watching President Obama put you in your places during the confirmation hearings.

Jesus put God first, not my will be done God,but thy will said Jesus, belief in God depends on putting God first.Jesus died to save mankind doing God's will. And Jesus says,a house divided against itself can't stand. So putting God first, not any one particular country first, but all countries, all mankind,Jesus says, mankind divided against itself in wars can't stand.

@DB – spoken like a true libtard! John Kerry isn't a good choice for anything! The man's an embarassment. Talk about tax evasion but, since he's another libtard, its ok with you people.

It is just a pity that the lynch mob deprived our country of an absolutely brilliant person for this most important position.

Minority or not.. she can not get a pass for this one? are you crazy? Maybe other things..but you can not lie about the assaination of a U.S. Ambassador. You should never say what some one tells you to state unless it has been conformed. An Ambassador to UN should ask these questions and double and tripple confirm these things anyway. If it was "based on intelligence", is our intelligence that flawed and unreliable? When will someone be accountable? Did the WH know the truth but deliberately blame a "video"?

With former Senator Chuck Hagel rumored to be the next Secretary of Defense, Senator John Kerry rumored to be the next Secretary of State and current Chief of Staff Jacob Lew rumored to be the next Secretary of the Treasury it seems as though women will have little of the top cabinet positions in the next administration. Not exactly what we should except from a progressive Democrat in the White House.

Congratulations Ambassador Rice! You ARE a wonderful representative for the US in the UN. Now this will continue to benefit all of us. I feel it is a shame how politics have screwed up everything in this country, and I am sad that you will not have the chance to serve as Secretary of State. However, you should be proud of all you have accomplished and will continue to accomplish. You are a Great American, and I salute you!

Another one thrown under the bus to save Hillbillary and the Demoncrats??

Bengazi and the massive Sunday T.V. show liars tour.,
    c.y.a.

This is what happens when your government lies as rule for doing deals with terrorists and thieves.

the United States is actively destabilizing the entire Middle east for their crimes including 9/11.,
The Saudis are in line next.
    How do i know this?
    They funded 9/11.,
They know the U.S. is going to surpass them in oil production and that they can no longer strangle the U.S. with the cost of doing any oil business with them.

    We allways had an out.,
    9/11 was our out.

This is a great news to the world specially to Africa. Susan Rice is a known supporter of African dictator Meles Zenawi. Listen to the ulogey she gave on his funeral and you understand what I mean.

Excellent news! Her conduct as UN Ambassador showed she is nowhere near ready for the position. I do not care for Kerry but he is a better choice than Rice. Are there any other candidates in the running?

Actually there was one problem with Susan rice. She had some tenuous connections to Canadian fossil fuel interests. That actually was a legitimately problematic consideration.
Nothing right wingers would've cared about, but not too cool for a progressive administration to present around the world.

Congratulations to that senile, old sob John "Depends" McCain and his smarmy accomplices for successfully bullying a highly qualified, extremely intelligent (especially compared to " 5th from the bottom of his class" McCain) public servant, who is–surprise surprise–the highest ranking black woman in the administration. Yeah, that'll help you get that growing minority vote in 2016, guys!! Whoo! whoo!

I hope this completely ticks off the President, and he realizes –once again–that there is no way to work with the GOP slime.

Ambassador Rice has more class in her left eyebrow than the entire GOP gang of thugs has in their..well.. entire gang.
