Palin bashes Time magazine's 'Person of the Year'

(CNN) - Sarah Palin, who's been listed twice as one of Time Magazine's "100 Most Influential People," is taking issue with the publication's decision to name President Barack Obama as its "Person of the Year."

Poking fun at herself, the 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee said the magazine lacks a certain degree of relevancy.

"Time magazine, I think there's some irrelevancy there to tell you the truth. I mean consider their list of the most influential people in the country and in the world. Some who have made that list? Yours truly. That oughta tell ya something right there regarding the credence we should give Time magazine and their list of people," she said Wednesday on Fox News.

Managing editor Richard Stengel wrote Obama deserved the recognition because he "forged a new majority, turned weakness into opportunity and sought, amid great adversity, to create a more perfect union."

But Palin, who along with 2008 GOP presidential nominee Sen. John McCain, lost to the Democratic presidential ticket four years ago, said "those are some silly words chosen to describe Barack Obama."

"When I first heard that, the first thing that popped in my mind was: What the heck has he done? Really, what has he done, except drive us over a fiscal cliff," she said. "What has he done to unify and make our nation a more perfect union? For the life of me, I don't know."

The former Alaska governor was chosen as one of the magazine's most influential people in 2009 and held a top spot on the same list in 2010. She was also considered one of four runners-up for "Person of the Year" in 2008, when Obama first received the title, and as someone "who mattered" in 2010.

She argued that "the path towards a perfect union is our Constitution" but said Obama "sees it as a charger of negatives" that needs serious changes.

Palin stoked speculation for much of 2011 as she considered a presidential bid but ultimately decided to stay out of the running. She largely stayed out of the presidential race, instead choosing to campaign for conservative Senate candidates in GOP primary battles.

She is just the poster child for Conservatives: ignorant, self absorbed, living in an alternate reality. What I find completely amusing is that she blames Obama for being the negative charge of the current climate in our country, yet it's folks like her who have nothing but negative comments all the time. Instead of just glossing over this Time award, she goes negative.

    Sound familiar? Lather, rinse, repeat

It is the favorite 'propaganda technique' favored by low information democrat voters that is used to attack their enemies:
ad hominem (personal attacks), ad nauseum (repeat attacks), name-calling (arouse prejudices and fear)

Based on the statements from conservatives on this site, they appear to have perfected the technique you claim liberals employ.

Palin does nothing but divide the nation. She insults the President and the left; whips the right into a frenzy; spreads lies; and has done nothing truly meaningful herself. She has absolutely no credibility. In fact, she is a terrible role model for young people. This country needs people who think more and speak less.

I think Sarah's skills are in the area of public relations... she would make the hottest WAL MART greeter ever. She just might not be qualified for that position, however.

Maybe if started in the lot, collecting shopping carts... she could work her way up. I'm sure she'll already have an orange vest that she could wear. That'll save her employer $3.00.

To be truthful, Sarah should be greatful for what we call "The Grace of God" because without that I don't see how she could be in the national stage, where she is right now. It is hard to any learned people to grasp her ideas and how she process her thinking. To every person that you hate, you need to know that there is another side of that person which carries good, which you don't see. The only thing that most people like Palin see about the President is the bad side of him and they can't even see one good thing about the President. I wonder if they pray for him. The Word says we ought to pray for our leaders, but I don't see that possiblity to Palin's camp who call themselves believers and at the same time hate the leader of their people to death. That is wrong for a believer to act that way. I believe that you may differ with the leader but their must be a somesort of respect to that office. If you disrespect to that level the office you wish to go, you'll never get there. That is how it works!

How many times must the mentally ill low information obama voter use this childish, immature, and failed rhetoric?

"...she is irrelevant...", "...go away...", "...Sarah who...", "...quitter...", and on and on and on.

The Liberal War on Women starts with their number one person they fear the most....
Populist, Blue collar, Woman of strength and resolve ...is... Momma Grizzly Governor Sarah Palin!

Not really. We see her more as something you think we should be afraid of, when in reality we are laughing at your inability to see her for what she is. I take it your analysis of statistics still leads you to the conclusion that she is relevant, even though she had ZERO positive effect for the GOP this time out?

I don't care for Sarah Palin, but in this matter I agree with her ... unless the word "person" has changed it's meaning to "arsehole" ... Then it would fit Obama.

You know I think everyone gets just a little bit dumber every single time she speaks. She has no right or expertize to say anything. She didn't even finish her own elected term. She is a disgrace and she is just trying to get attention it looks like to me. They make a pill for that and maybe its time they put her on it... or require her to take it...
