not going to be a very lengthy statement – he's going to say the same thing he's been saying all along – He's campaigned on it – over 250K pay taxes – everybody else, lower or NO tax hike, period.
@ sheila remind me to get a reading from you lol
That is a really neat picture of the legislative branch leaders surrounding the executive. Kudos to the photographer.
the president is doing a great jos protecting us from the repug nuts.
Wouldn't it be awesome if he came out and said we have successfully averted the fiscal cliff and reached a deal that looks like his initial proposal
Occupy the Fiscal Cliff !
Dear Congress as a Korean veteran and a citizen of the United States Im' willing to take a cut in my medicare and allso
my SSI as long as you in congress do the same. Drop your retirement down to my level along with taking a reduction on your monthly pay. Bring yourself down to my retirement programs like you seems not to do anything about congress taking a hit just us American citezens> I do belive congress should be on term limits> You seem to stay in to long and loose your touch with the outside, so if you will agree and put in writing go on and put us over your man made cliff. HOWEVER IF YOU CAN NOT AGREE KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF MY ssi THAT i WORKED FOR OVER FIFTY YEARS FOR AND GIVE ME BACK ALL THE MEDICARE MONEY YOU HAVE TAKEN OUT OF MY ssi CHECKS.
So lets see if you can work for us and not yourself.
Truth of the matter is he won....therefore the majority is with him and not John Boehner and the Republicans....try again in 4 years! Oops, forgot Hillary will be there then....
Only a Republican could start two wars, reduce revenues through tax cuts and medicare giveaways and then complain about the ballooning national debt. All this talk about tax rates on personal income while the vast majority of the wealthy make virtually all of their money from investment income, capital gains on stocks. Go ahead, raise the rates, Mitt Romney will still be paying less than 14%. The best solution would be to tie the capital gains rates to a ratio tied to the outstanding national debt. 16T in debt = 80% cap gains rate. 0 debt = 0% cap gains rate. Then the wealthy would have an incentive to balance the budget.
It's too bad that our elected representatives are trying to solve this problem with the same mindset that caused it. Ask ANY small business owner if deficit spending is a sound financial strategy and they'll laugh at you, then call you an idiot. Why does our government operate under different fiscal rules than the rest of us? Until we get them to change their stinkin thinking, we will CONTINUE to pay the price...
Frankly, I am all for jumping right off that "fiscal cliff" – if returning to the Clinton-era tax rates also returns us to the Clinton-era economy, then let's jump!!!
The Country is behind the President , yet this means nothing to the GOP ? Are they going through a manic phase ? Americans are starting to wonder, how can the GOP continue to support and pander to the 1% ? It's so self defeating. Americans are angry . What do they think pushed so many to Vote in this last election ? Were not going to take it anymore. We will not stop until certain (GOP) Congressional members are out. We will use any and every strategy available to bring down (politically)GOP Congressmen, who continue this farce. If it takes having to vote for someone else that's GOP to get rid of them . We will. The GOP should be able to see what's coming.
Well, folks–that's the way it should be–all this time–middle Class America is CRUSHED under the greedy fangs of wealthy–it is the right time for them to repay–raise tax on 250k or more earners. Nothing wrong here.
