(CNN) – President Barack Obama appeared on NBC's "Meet The Press" on Sunday, talking about the "fiscal cliff" negotiations and priorities for his administration in his second term.
The president told host David Gregory that he was optimistic something will be worked out to keep tax rates from rising on Tuesday - but if not, his first piece of legislation for the next Congress will be a bill to reduce tax rates on most Americans.
Given the pledges the GOP made on Inauguration Day 2009 to make Mr. Obama a "one-term President" by refusing to work with him on any front, and by pandering to and signing pledges to rich, self-centered lobbyists like Grover Norquist it was pretty predictable this is what would happen. The President has to go it alone to fix the multifaceted disaster left by the GOP and the Bush Presidency; a Senate that the GOP has tied up with the highest number of filibusters ever (368)- including ones on their own bills; a House with no leader, and crazy radicalized members with nothing but Luddite-like goals.
The GOP has grown soft and lazy and has no clue what to do- except obstruct, block, and destroy. Jail is too good a punishment for their brand of anti-Americanism, and economic terrorism.
Stay strong on GUN-CONTROL LAW–sign.
Here it is Pres Obama "You won the Election so stop your campaign and lead for a Change"...no more playing the blame-game...Everytime the GOP brings forth a plan you are playing Golf and moving the sand-trap for the House-Speaker to fail...Americans are onto it by now....
How much negotiating did Pres Obama really do...? Lets see he was always out there campaigning...had time for appearing on shows..went to Hawaii for Xmas and since then did some more campaigning and appearing on shows...His Leadership is non-excisting and this is why he invented "the Fiscal Cliff"....
