New York (CNNMoney) - Some 2.1 million jobless Americans are receiving their last federal unemployment checks this week if Congress doesn't extend the deadline to file for extended benefits.
And another 1 million who exhaust their state benefits in the first quarter of 2013 will never see a federal unemployment payment, according to the National Employment Law Project, an advocacy group.
its jobs out there if people is been laid off its the people stuck on how much money their would be making but even if you must a pay cut for a job then thats what we need to do i the old saying you must crawl befor you walk
What do you say to two million people, we have to protect the rich, so just be patient and we'll get to you. They should all be given bus tickets to Washington to show their appreciation to the government.
So exactly how long are we supposed to keep extending benefits?!
I'm going with Democrats on this one and agree that the unemployment rate is extremely low, we basically have few unemployed, people are able to find jobs easily these days and we shouldn't worry so much because unemployment has been a Republican gimick.
Democrats said under Obama everything is great and he takes care of people so why are we worried the unemployed will not get unemployment checks???????
Why are these people worried to not get more unemployment checks?????? the economy is great, no reason they can't find a job in 2013.
I would like to know how politicians sleep at night. Maybe if they were held to the standards of most companies they would put some thought into there decisions. I think they need to use some common sense. there are so many ways to pay down the deficent. starting with their pay and retirement benfits. If i did my job like they do, i would have been fired a long time. while i agree that there are people that have fallen on hard times and should be helped, there are so many people that abuse the system. I have worked hard all my life, i have saved ,paid my bills on time and have not lived above my means. I pay my taxes, but what do i get in return. I get to pay for people who do not want to work.
So, what does congress think if they do not extend these existing benefits? Should unemployed survive on eating grass and drinking water? OR should they go and break banks? It is really disgusting to see elected people are not using their heads.
LOL. Those GOP GUYS really showed you! Who cares...right? I mean only poor, lazy minoritiesand women who don't know their place are unemployed...right? LOL They are SO OUT OF TOUCH.
No employment checks for the unemployed but yet this "do nothing Congress" passed 61 bills out of 3,914 for the year of 2012 which is equivalent to almost 2 months of work but Americans tax dollars paid for the other 10 months of none production. An employer would fire you and I for non-production without pay and this GOP Congress stands up for that because the Constitution protects their pay whether they work or not.
