Boehner's White House F-bomb

(CNN) - For all the stalemate in the fiscal cliff negotiations, there were some heated moments, too.

A Democratic source familiar with one particular exchange told CNN that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell were sitting on a sofa in the White House.

House Speaker John Boehner breezed in and his first words to Reid were "Go f*** yourself."

Boehner's comment came after Reid took to the Senate floor on Thursday and characterized the House speaker's handling of his chamber as a "dictatorship."

Reid responded to Boehner's confrontational tone by laughing, the Democratic source said, though a GOP source who was there said he didn't think Reid was all that happy.

"The exchange continued, and it didn't get any better for Reid," the GOP source said.

Boehner's office had no comment on the exchange when asked about it Wednesday.

Both men described the moment to members of their caucus.

The exchange happened at the White House on Friday - the day the four Capitol Hill leaders, including House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi - met with President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner.

On Wednesday, after news of the comment emerged, Reid said on the Senate floor that "unlike others behind us in this Capitol, I'm not going to stoop to name calling. I just want people to work and do what they need to do." Politico first reported Boehner's comment.

Hours after the meeting on Friday, he described it as "constructive."

"There was not a lot of hilarity in the meeting, everyone knows how important it is," Reid said. "It was a very serious meeting and it took an extended period of time."

Where is the proof Reid lied? Did Romney release his tax returns? The answer is no because Reid didn't lie and Mitt knows it, which is why he never released his returns to prove he paid his taxes. Romney hid money in offshore accounts to avoid paying any taxes for years, got caught when UBS turned in their list of tax cheats, took the 2009 IRS tax amnesty deal, and then paid his back taxes and penalties. Romney refused to release any tax returns before 2010 precisely because Reid was telling the truth and these returns would have shown it. Mitt knows the American people wouldn't have wanted an admitted tax cheat in the Oval office so he just denied the truth and kept his returns secret, while giving a rough overview of the average tax rate he paid over the period (paid in one lump sum after taking the 2009 IRS amnesty deal).

What a fiasco about Reid telling a lie? Did the world not see the Romney/Ryan clown circus for the last year? They were both running marathons in under 2 hrs.

Painting Reid as anything other than a hack does the country an injustice. Reid has consistently proved himself to be one of the most insulting politicians in the Democratic party and an embarrassment to us all.

Everyone in Washington DC knows that Boehner frequents ghetto bars. In fact his younger life was spent in a bar his father owned in Reading Ohio. This is not a class guy. He would be completely comfortable with drug addicts like Rush and Trump. So who is surprised the trick uses curse words?

Reid may be a whiny embarrassment to his party, but at least he's adult and professional enough to not have to stooping to the F word during business- unlike Boehner.

That said, both these guys are complete tools.

Reid is sitting on over 150 bills from Congress and he just keeps playing leftist politics. Good for Boehner! That is a phrase that stands on it's own and a rebutal is not expected or wanted.

@hun43 "It is impossible to negotiate with a deceitful, arrogant narcissist".
This is clearly why we didn't let your guy Romney into the White House.

Hard to realize that Boehner is an adult? After teaching at a Junior High School and hearing 13 and 14 year olds say that to each other, I now understand that Boehner is very simple minded and a very angry man that will lash out at anyone who crosses him. I hope that someday he grows up. The people of America deserve it!!

For all you Republican morons who are whining about Biden, it was actually your beloved former VP Dick Cheney who used naughty language first. He said the same Boehner said to a sitting senator (Patrick Leahy of Vermont) on the SENATE FLOOR in 2004. Maybe you clowns should consider getting your heads checked for Alzheimer's.

Obama lowered taxes???? As of January my payroll taxes went up @$200,00 a month!! And my income is in the middle of the middle class! Rudy.are you even working, or do you even know how much federal tax you pay?!? Clinton signed more legislation to reduce the tax burden on corporations than even Reagan!! Please at least do some research before you post! Also, I bashed both parties in my post. Please don't go the way of biased media and quote out of context!

Somehow I believe it and I cannot say I am surprised at Mr. Boehner's unprofessional/ungentlemanly comment. He keeps saying it to the citizens of this country. He also said it to his own party by tanking the Sandy vote. He is vile and a knothead, the GOP deserves better leadership than this playground bully.

Once again John Boehner proves that all Republican politicians are foul mouthed swine. Of course, we have known that for a long time given the behavior of Dick Cheney.

Reid might have been driving at more specific reasons than Romney just not releasing his tax returns when he (Reid) made his assertions. There were reports from Bloomberg and I believe a few other news outlets in October 2012 that Romney benefitted from a tax deferring loophole where he essentially set up an investment vehicle that borrowed the tax deferment status of charities – in his case the Mormon church – to defer paying taxes for 15 years. Google CRUT, Romney and Mormon Church – you should be able to find the relevant articles.

As a Brit observing the lead up to the election and hearing Obama's filthy language in relation to his opponent I can't believe the Democrats are whining AGAIN about Boehner's remarks to Reid! At least they were private remarks , unlike the dreadful Presidents' which were at a public meeting!

I have some comments to make:
[1] Obama has covered his failures by whining about the Republicans
[2] The American people are too stupid to see it
[3] Obama's plan to tax the rich out of existence will not TOUCH the deficit – it has no merit
[4] The American people are too stupid to see it
[5] Benghazi was a failure and the responsibility rests with the Commander-in-chief'
[6] The American people are too stupid to expect Obama to take responsibility

Conclusion .......... America deserves to fail. You have no integrity; simply a child-like notion that life is one long movie!

Funny how liberal media lemmings seemed to think quite fondly of Biden when he dropped the "F" bomb. But Boehner is crude?
