New York (CNNMoney) – Employers may be hiring, but there's another big problem with the job market that isn't being tracked as closely: the hopelessly unemployed.
An often overlooked number calculated by the Labor Department shows millions of Americans want a job but haven't searched for one in at least a year. They've simply given up hope.
Nice job Obama & democrats! It will get worse when your regulatory agenda kicks in, oblabla care is in full effect, you waste more money trying to pick winners and losers in the private sector with uncalled for funding, you outlaw firearms and the companies all leave, etc, etc When will this adminstration stop destroying our nation??
Employers nationwide need to hold job fares geared to the long-term unemployed. Eventually unemployment insurance is going to have to end then what? Government assistance is strained already. The GOP needs to tap into their wealthy friends and see if they can provide some jobs for America. America simply cannot ignore those who need work. We are paying our representatives some darned good salaries and I think they need to think outside the box to get things going again. There should never be a time when someone who wants to work cannot find a job. This is America for crying out loud!
Actually a lot have been unemployed since 2008, BEFORE PRESIDENT OBAMA WAS EVEN ELECTED. The job prospects were so dismal many gave up. You do get tired of going on interview after interview and no calls.
President Obama is doing as much as he can while the GOP continues their quest of obstruction.
The problem is that the job skills and experience that are needed aren't fully disclosed and understood by many people out there looking for jobs. Employers need to state more clearly what they are looking for in employees and work with local community collages to get the skills put into some kind of program. I know that is being done some places, but more places need to have that done.
