Obama to hold news conference Monday

(CNN) - President Barack Obama will hold a news conference Monday at 11:15 a.m. ET, the White House announced.

Obama will make an opening statement about the debt limit, according to a White House official. The debt limit is poised to become the next battle between the White House and Congress - Republicans want spending cuts attached to any measure raising the debt limit, while Obama has said he won't negotiate on raising the ceiling.

Obama won't negotiate on the debt ceiling because he wants to keep pushing it and pushing it until it breaks.
More government, bigger taxes, more regulation and more power to the Federal Government. If there was financial collapse Obama would feel that he has done his job in bringing America down to size. Bill and Hil although Dems and Libs don't hate America like BO does. He has a score to settle, his revenge. More government handouts, more government union employees, keep propping up the US Postal service. He is ushering America into decline and the Liberal Media is helping as much as possible to turn him into a pop Icon.

How can we get the GOP out of Congress? Wait, I know tell them they should all go be NRAS Lobbyists .. they make way more money and only have "yes" men .. How come the biggest spenders in the past (Afghanistan, Iraq war) would be yelling so loud .. Oh, wait their guy isn't in office. If Romney made it in the White House the GOP would double the dept ceiling so as to go off to war some place new. Maybe get a t-shirt.

Want to have a constructive debt ceiling debate? Why not start by addressing the $5.3 trillion war pricetag hanging from the GOP's ceiling??? Now that is progress.

Yeah the big bad republicans want a solution (IE CUTS) instead of just spending endless amounts of money on whatever the hell Obama feels like. Lets demonize those guys, its like your wife saying "Hey, maybe instead of calling your credit card company every 3 months to raise your limit have you ever thought about spending less money?". Then its like you (Obama) goes around to work and trash talks your wife to everyone including your friends and family saying how misinformed she is and how she is only trying to ruin your life and make everything difficult.

"Obama has said he won't negotiate on raising the ceiling."
Yep. There go them obstructionist Republicans again. Why is it that 'compromise' is only the right thing to do when Republicans do it?

So when will he discuss spending cuts? The fiscal cliff, he got tax raises on the wealthy, pathetic politicians added more tax givaways that the actual tax increases so it really did not help at all. SO no spending cuts with that and now he is saying no spending cuts with the dept limit. When does he want to talk about the cuts then? He was reported as saying that America does not have a spending problem so is he really not interested in any cuts? Honestly it seems to me that he could care less about the debt and deficit and all he is doing is just for show. (Also, I think many politicians are doing the exact same thing too, on both sides and are not interested whatsoever in a real solution. This article is about the president therefore my comment focused on him)

Yes yes yes you clueless liberals will argue that the republicans are obstructionists and want us to fail but you have to realize we need to curb our spending. Taxing the rich is projected to earn us 1 trillion over 10 years. At this rate we spend 3 trillion a year. We need to do something. Obama doesn't want to upset his supporters I understand but at what point does he wake up and realize he has to do something for the country even if it isn't popular?
