Obama's at 53%

Washington (CNN) - As President Barack Obama gets ready to start his second term in office, an average of the latest surveys indicates that 53% of Americans approve of the job he's doing in office, with 42% giving him a thumbs down.

That's according to a new CNN Poll of Polls, compiled and released Friday, which averages seven non-partisan, live operator national surveys conducted since January 9.

The survey's included in the CNN Poll of Polls are: Gallup daily tracking poll (Jan. 14-16); CNN/Time Magazine/ORC (Jan. 14-15); NBC/Wall Street Journal (Jan. 12-15); CBS/New York Times (Jan. 11-15); AP/GfK (Jan. 10-14); ABC/Washington Post (Jan. 10-13); Pew Research Center (Jan. 9-13).

Since the CNN Poll of Polls is an average of multiple surveys, it does not have a sampling error.

This president is doing the Best. He has to focus on JOB-TRAINING, manufacturing, stricter Immigration, Feul-efficiency, public Transportation, infrastructure etc. these things were ignored and all our money is poured outside of USA by GOP thugs. He does good. I have confidence. We need to pass gun-control law. Period.

Didn't call me and if you would have there would have been another thumbs down.

Obama can't continue to play the blame game his party has to stop the over spending and start paying our debt down now not later.

Obama has had the poor, AA, and Latinos convinced he is doing everything right we know better the people who can speak English and write.

Yes I am a Democrat and didn't vote for Obama because I don't need the liberal media telling me what's right.

I guess I will now be labeled a racist and before you do yes I am a Black American not an AA.

So that must mean 53% of the population polled is collecting welfare or on food stamps. Got it.

Republicans will attack but they know that no President will ever again have as poor ratings as G.W. Bush.

That's very interesting because rcp's poll of 'direction of country' shows an almost identical graph- but in the opposite direction. Since dec 5, those feeling the country is on the wrong track has risen from 53.5 to 57%. I guess they blame someone other than the Pres for the wrong direction he is leading us in?

And if you believe that I have a bridge to sell you. Yep, expanding indefinite wars, a dying economy, and soon to be police state. All good

Plenty of White Republicans are collecting welfare and food stamps....most likely more than any single group of 'minorities'...

Vast majority of food stamps go to red states....the real "takers" in the US budget equation.

"I guess they blame someone other than the Pres for the wrong direction...?"

Yes, polls show that the GOP/Teatrolls in Congress get the lion's share of the blame.

Actually, Magel. If you add up the dollars spent on Medicare, Medicaid, and Welfare studies have shown that 70% of that money was spent on people who were most likely to vote for Mitt Romney.

Hmmm...an 11 point spread in his favor...ok...so how long before CNN puts up an article to counterbalance this?

Aaaaah, apparently, the answer is 42 minutes.

Obama is the Poster Boy for everything that is wrong with the country. Starting with the 16.4 Trillion Dollar Federal Debt. He will do nothing to reduce it, Something everybody will pay directly or indirectly. But he and the Liberal's talk a good game.

Oh yes , we forgot, debt was invented by the President. It never existed before 2009, even when GOP congresses and GOP presidents spent money we did not have to pay for tax cuts we did not need. And lets not forget all those Southern states that have never taken a dime of federal money, like, say Georgia. How much money do your seccessionist, treasonous states take from the Blue states, to balance your budgets and to pay subsistance wages? Do tell, Ray.

    @ Expat American
George W. Bush was more concerned in being the leader of the free world to the best of his ability, rather than bow down to critics like you. His ratings didn't dictate his moral and ethical obligation as president. The current administration severely lacks this trait.

Oh, uhh, Ray E. i know this will probably makie no difference too what you or any of the other Baggers think, but ..........Obama has spent less then Reagan, Bush 1, Bush 2, and Clinton. And less then Ronnie by a huge amount. "Poster Boy (I'd watch my terminology, your true colors are showing. but then thats the REAL problem isn't it) for everything that is wrong with America." You need look no farther then the GOP to find fault. Come on.........two illegal, and unbudgeted wars, huge tax breaks for the wealthy, trickle down? Give me a break.

Things popular in America: the Kardashians, Honey Boo Boo, reality television, Taylor Swift, Bud Light, McDonalds, guns...Yup. 53% of Americans approving of yet another loser seems about right.

I have disagree with Obama's administration almost since day one of his presidency. When I share my disapproval of him on these message boards the knee-jerk reaction of his sheep is to accuse me of being a right winger. Let me be clear. I am a liberal and unlike Obama and the Democratic party, I understand the difference between liberalism and opportunism.
