(CNN) – The White House released a new portrait of President Barack Obama on Friday, just ahead of the inauguration of his second term.
The photo was taken by White House photographer Pete Souza on December 6, 2012. In the photo, the president is seen standing in the Oval Office.
Here's a look at the official White House photo from Obama's first term, also taken by Souza (January 13, 2009).
Love the photo, President Obama ... !
And from an earlier article, RNC Chairman Reince Priebus has decided that in order to compete with Democrats, Republicans are brainstorming ways of becoming more inclusive towards minorities through campaign messaging using Facebook and Twitter. Apparently - in his mind at least - not having a African American as a Democratic Presidential nominee in 2016 will cause the minority vote to be up for grabs in 2016 (as noted below).
"After the election, Priebus pledged to do a top-to-bottom review of the party, named it the “Growth and Opportunity Effort” and appointed five Republicans to lead the project."
One assumes by coining their outreach campaign the "Growth and Opportunity Effort" GOPers will no longer seek to suppress the Democratic Party voting block in 2016?
He's the POTUS with the mostest! Hey Sen. Paul, I don't see a crown on his head in either picture. Good job of Souza getting the Resoute Desk in the photo.
Obama is the biggest egotist to ever reside in the WH.
lance prebus must be thinkin that when 2016 election time comes around, the minorities won't vote or probably don't care if they vote or not, so he can pick up those people's votes, especially if there is 2 people on the tickets without any color.
Beautiful!!! GOD BLESS****
OMG I LOVE IT!!!!
Who da man Mr. President?!
YOU the man President Obama and the bomb!!!
Love it!! lol!
He is The Cool Dude...with over 50% of vote both runs....historically rare...check it out. I like this portrait but I believe the one on Time's cover will be the defining one. Will be interesting to see pols take positioning in next 4 years. Will Jeb Bush be talked into a run? Will I vote Republican after so many years not? Let's wait and watch.
A picture IS worth a thousand words!!
I could not be HAPPIER that he chose this pose.
Confident. Blessed. Happy. Winner.
Let's not overlook the fact that there is no room for doubt that he is in FULL POSSESSION of the Oval Office.
If that picture does'nt scream "YES WE CAN, and the hell we did'nt" I don't know what does!!!
You made my day CNN. Thanks!
That is one rare view....A smile? We've not seen one of those since 2008.
I love this photo mr president tell your wife to get better school lunches
Yo Priebus!!! Part of strategizing is not leaking your strategy. It's not like republicans have a chance in hell of woo'ing the African-American vote, but hey, why not give it a shot. I can't wait to see the look of disappointment.
His arms are folded in defiance, just like his policy work AGAINST the will of the people and ignoring the need to gain congressional cooperation. Don't worry, he'll unfold them to sign another executive order.
Beautiful!!! GOD BLESS**** from Ecuatorial Guinea (Central Africa)
The caption for the new picture should read:
Memo to Speaker John Boehner, Karl Rove, Sean Hannity and William O'Reilly: "It is President Barak Obama, not President Mitt Romney ... just in case you did not understand the message the American people sent the GOP last November."
