Washington (CNN) - Thanks to Sen. Patty Murray, Sharon and Blake Ilstrup can have their big inauguration date night after all.
Last week, the Seattle-area couple, along with many others, were shut out of the first-come, first-served official Presidential Inaugural Ball ticket sales when a mistake by Ticketmaster, the ticket vendor, inadvertently released tickets for both the inaugural ball and parade early, as CNN first reported.

If the house/senate & bamman spent half the time working on the economy as they did being celebs, we would be a lot better off, all i see is more wasted time and money
They know it doesn't matter anymore. It's all about the theatre.
When you have chuck shumar talk tough about how the senate is going to pass a budget (for the first time in four years), you know he understands our cult of personality environment. He knows many of the president's supporters won't think for one second it was to avoid showing their real intentions prior to the election. After all. Beyonce is singing later.
I am glad that sharon an blake got their tickets to go to obama balls.
Why anyone even wants to go, is beyond me.
It was very generous of Senator Patty Murray to give them her own tickets to one of the Balls .. and very generous
of Representative Susan Delbene to give them her tickets to the public Inauguration ceremony. Both ladies are
Democrats, by the way. :-)
@JD well put !!!
Forget the pomp & circumstance. What I`d like to know is WHERE are this year`s crop of despicable Republican politicians meeting – in what dark, smoke filled room – to plot AGAINST the American President like they did in 2009?
The opposition to Mr. Obama had NOTHING to do with his "policies". On inaguration day, these people did not know what his policies would be. Boehner, Cantor, McConnel, Coryn, Ryan , etc. etc., where platting against the him for other reasons. I`ll let you decide what that reason was but don`t fool yourselves or think you can fool those of us that were paying attention.
Imagine how many jobs could have been created with justa little bit of cooperation. I hope the President exposes the GOP -Greed / Guns Over People – for all it`s wickedness.
It appears some don't understand what a President does. Any Policies he may start has to be Voted on and Approved by the Congress. The Constutition is where the President and Congress get the authority to act. No President is a Dictator and has to follow the Constutition, believe it or not.
