(CNN) – Former Rep. Allen West of Florida, former Rep. Artur Davis of Alabama and former Puerto Rico Gov. Luis Fortuno will speak at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference in March, the American Conservative Union announced Thursday.
West, first elected in 2010, was defeated in November during his re-election bid in Florida.
Davis, meanwhile, was a former Democrat and Obama supporter who turned Republican during the president's first term. He made headlines when speaking at the Republican National Convention in August.
Fortuno, a one-term governor, also lost his re-election bid in November.
CPAC is the largest gathering of conservative leaders and activists, and it has launched the presidential campaigns of many Republican candidates. The annual CPAC straw poll is considered a broad barometer of the conservative movement, especially as a vote on possible presidential candidates.
Others scheduled to speak this year include former GOP Vice Presidential Nominee and Rep. Paul Ryan, former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania, Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, and Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky.
The conference, which turns 40 this year, will be held from March 14-16 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center just outside Washington.

Funny how the speakers are all "Former" something or other. Good ridance.
Three losers speaking at a repug conference. This is news. NOT
Former Rep. Allen West of Florida.
Didn't he get fired from his job ? Now he's a lobbyist .
the Tea Party and the Republicans both have an approval rating in the low to mid 20's and this is why. Yet they don't seem to care because they keep trotting the same old losers out there to represent them. CPAC is nothing more that an Obama-bash fest which they do have the right to have of course but it gets very little done other than that.
Gee, losers from the past, talking to losers of the future.
Hope the news media gives West a lot of coverage at the CPAC. He always says something stupid or outrageous. He can't help himself.
I don't know that West really has much to offer other than more ideological drivel. Although, given where he is speaking, I guess that is par for the course.
The American Conservative Union. Don't conservatives hate unions? Or do they only hate unions that represent american workers.
West, Davis and Fortuno are all losers, literally. Davis is bitter over having lost a 2010 bid for governer in Alabama I think it was. He felt that he lost because of his support for Pres. Obama. Really. He felt that he should have recieved better financial support from the national committee, and he wound up with deep campaign debts.
However, he was correct in moving from AL to VA because his political career down there was finished. He had ran for the highest office and lost badly. He jumped ship because he had run up debts, and his political career in Alabama was dead and buried. Since he joined the GOP and began bashing the president, his debts are paid and his wallet is well lined.
Bunch of "Has-Beens" and wannabes!
RNC has learned nothing. West , Bachman, Gohmert, Palin are what is wrong with your party.
The Tea Party will fight to add their own passengers to the Republican Clown Car. They learned nothing from the past election and will again send a field of extremists to the Primary election so they can get spanked in the general. West is nuttier than squirrel droppings.
He would make a good news person if he is as described by the populace here.
Someone commented he got fired from his job.At least he had one at some time in life, unlike many who post here.
West, you were a disgrace while in uniform and you were an even bigger disgrace while in Congress. Look on the bright side. You can get a job at Fixed News and you can spew your commie talk.
Maybe West will provide a re-enactment of his Army interrogation technique for the boys of CPAC. Anything having to do with gunplay should get their juices flowing!
The Republican Clown Show continues...
The only thing CPAC has going for it is a morbid sense of allure. It's like a freeway wreck. It's there and you can see it but you really wish it wasn't,you wish it never happened. But you look then wish you didn't.
The most glaring problem with the Republican Party is that they lack leadership, and haven't had real leadership from an elected official since Speaker Gingrich. Today, their leaders are the individuals who best spread the message of conservatism. Unfortunately for the right wing, that means people like Limbaugh and the rest of the right wing media machine.
GOP, keep inviting these dangerous, hate-filled, righteous, anti-American, anti-democracy, anti-truth folks to represent your party, values, and conscience. Your gods continue be be Rush, Sean, Beck, Palin, Bachman, and all things FOX. So, so, so, sad.
West's inability to maintain troop discipline and control as a military officer is less egregious than his statements about religion. Save the lecture about my qualifications to judge – I've been there more than West. Our nation must not use religious differences to divide our population – we're better than that. West's frequent attacks on Islam are nothing but foolish political theater from a radical, hateful and poorly self-disciplined politician.
So CPAC is the most prestigous speaking engagement for Republicans, huh. The annual conference is where leaders of conservatism gather to hear the wisdom of the right wing movement's leaders. Do they plan to have Rush Llimbaugh be the keynote speaker once again?
I thought the dems were the party of love ?? talk about haters, go figure.
Whats the diff ???? ask Hilly
Accent on the word "FORMER". There is going to be a lot more of that going around in the tea party circles in 2014 in the Senate and Congress. The american people are really tired of the word No being thrown around by both republican and democrats on everything. Comments like Rand Paul said yesterday about Hilary Clinton were just way out of line (no big fan of her but she has done a hell of a job as Sec of State). Paul needs to start up his doctor's practice (or whatever he was doing before he got elected) in preparation for his defeat. He is a one term wonder. Rubio is another one. One and gone.
These tea party media darlings are all the same. Please refer to Ms. Palin. No one wants to hear from her. Most of them will fade from obscurity in 3-5 years. Probably be on an unemployment line near you.
@ Larry L –
"Our nation must not use religious differences to divide our population – we're better than that."
Our nation must not use ANYTHING to divide our population. Unfortunately, ALL our politicians use their pet special interest, whatever it may be and from whichever side of the aisle, to do just that.
