Charlotte, North Carolina (CNN) - Reince Priebus pledged to grow his party by making direct appeals to minority and young voters as well as dedicating campaign resources to try and win in traditional Democratic states, as members of the Republican National Committee re-elected him Friday to a second two-year term at their Winter Meeting.
"We must compete in every state and every region, building relationships with communities we haven't before," he said. "At the RNC, we are dropping red and blue analysis. We must be a party concerned about every American in every neighborhood."

Last month, Priebus created a task force to re-examine every aspect of the RNC's operation from voter outreach and general messaging to the GOP's digital program and plans for the 2016 presidential primaries. The group, comprised of RNC members and well respected Republicans, are expected to issue their recommendations in March.
In his remarks, Priebus emphasized that Republicans did not need to "compromise our principles," but there was wide acknowledgement among Republicans attending the meeting, including from the chairman, that offensive language towards women and strong rhetoric by some GOP lawmakers and opinion leaders on the issue of illegal immigration had made it difficult to sell the GOP brand beyond its base.
On Thursday evening, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal told attendees during a dinner speech that the GOP needs to "stop being the stupid party."
In an interview with CNN published earlier this week, Priebus said that he has already begun talking to donors about helping fund an expanded infrastructure program.
In his Friday speech, Priebus signaled to the state Republican leaders and grassroots activists that their support will be needed if they are to be successful.
"Simple outreach a few months before an election will not suffice," he said. "In fact, let's stop talking about reaching out and start working on welcoming in. Political support is cultivated over time, not collected on Election Day."
Priebus ran unopposed for a second term when his only challenger failed to qualify for the ballot.

It is an interesting phenomenon in the Republican Party: They refused to financially support the national organization under Chairman Steele. They instead contributed to independent groups, like those run by former Chairman Barbour and presidential aide Karl Rove. Chairman Steele produced great Republican gains during his two year term. But Chairman Steele was rejected for his efforts, and Chairman Priebus was elected his successor. The Republicans decided to financially support the national organization under the new Chairman Priebus, and also supported independent groups, like those run by former Chairman Barbour and Mr. Rove. Chairman Priebus produced diminishing results. I am reminded of the Shakespearean quote: "The fault lies not within the stars but within ourselves." I am also reminded of the Pogo quote: "I have seen the enemy and they are us." It seems that Republicans are getting in the way of themselves.
The big question is can he get conservatives elected in 2014. I hope so this country needs a Republican Senate and the impeachment of the Socialist Obama.

It's becoming interesting to see more an more people are looking to the Dam's for leader ship. I can remember when Ragan was a Dam an then changed to become a Rep an became a loved president, back then the Rep party was a different Rep party, now there are two Rep party's the old an the so far right of the old party it surprises me why they don't change party name to LIKE the far ( RIGHT of every one Party ) an discard calling them selves pure Rep. Well, Mr. Priebus is right about what the GOP needs to do regarding minorities, and more power to him in that effort. I live in the soverign state of Arizona, where the GOP collectively is madder than Batman's Joker. See, what Mr. Priebus isn't counting on is how bad the GOP brand is in the hinterlands. Here in AZ. they pass bills lauding a "State Gun"; are working a a bill to finalcially reward an ousted and corrupt former President of the Senate (Mr. Russell Pierce); wher they have utterly destroyed our public education system (NOW worst in the nation); Who crafted the now-famous SB 1070; and who is perpetually at war with the federal government.
In the end, no minority in AZ. will ever support the GOP because of their regressive policys- and well, flat-out craziness. Until Mr. Priebus can export this lot to Somolia (or someplace similar where their ideas make sense), the GOP will always be associated with the insane.
Keep up the good work there Prince. Expand the role and influence of the Tea Party, limit the influence of science from the 20th or 21st centuries, and try to rewrite the past. It is WORKIN'!
