Quick draw: How the NRA's LaPierre keeps his enemies guessing

Washington (CNN) - Wayne LaPierre is not a large man. He does not move with the easy assurance of a skilled fighter. His head sits low on his neck, and he seems to turn from the shoulders.

His swept-back, graying hair and rimless glasses make him look like a Central Casting accountant who sleeps with a tie on. Yet, in Washington, LaPierre is a heavyweight of the first degree, a brawler who can make even brave politicians toss in the towel at the first sign of a scuffle.

The dems and those that have been brain washed by the media will never admit it but, Lapierre is exactly right.

What is so hard to understand? Lapierre is a salesman. He represents the views and opinions of his board members, who are all heavy hitters in the gun industry. There's not one average gun club enthusiast among them. They're driven by greed. Greed becomes transparent when you throw away all of your sense of morality and ethics. Simple.

Too bad he never took up that invitation to go duck hunting with Dick Cheney.

Does anyone ever get tired of politicians getting strong-armed by guys like this only on a threat of witholding votes. Can't the people that agree with a politician's stance simply vote for them?

This is what passes for one of this country's leaders? Please....greed and preying upon the insecurities of the weak little men that can't live with their AK-47and blankey . It is so sad people just make so much money off people scared of their own shadow, and the result being the whole country suffers. And don't give me that crap about "a well regulated militia" That's stupid. This country's military hasn't attacked its populace since being formed. Oh that's right...There is a black man in office so everybody in the military is going to start shoot people down in the streets. I deplore the idiocy promoted and promulgated by the GOP and its mentally week supporters.

Wayne La Pierre "keeps his enemies guessing" because he is insane and prone to very irrational statements with no facts or logic. Why gun owners look to him as some sort of 2nd Amendment supporter is as surprising as ever. He is a crazy shill for the weapons manufacturers-nothing more, nothing less. Proft for them is all he is interested in. Not my safety, or yours. When the day comes that guns get seized (as more and more Americans die needlessly in out of control gun violence and public anger builds), gun owners will be able to point to Crazy Wayne as the reason why it happened.
Crazy Wayne and the NRA- supporting the rights of murders and gun criminals everywhere.

It appears that those who have been brainwashed by the NRA, refuse to admit that LaPierre is talking treason.

His primary arguement that a bad guy with a gun can be stopped by a good guy with a gun doesn't hold water. If the good guy isn't aware of the problem, he's just as dead. If the bad guy gets off the first shot or is a better one, then the good guy is still dead.

He should be making sure that everyone who owns a weapon has it secured so only that person can use it. That along with every gun should be noted to whom and when it was sold. If there is a gun sold or stolen, it should be made clear as to when that happened.

What part of "WELL REGULATED " militia does NRA not understand? Looks like the 2nd amendment gives the federal gov. the responsibility of regulating "our militia ". So if federal gov. says our militia doesnt need AK47s then they can be banned per the their 2nd amendment right to "regulatr "

What I have found to be politically most appalling since Newtown tragedy is how silent Republican politicians were for the first week following it. With the exception of a few individuals who spoke up for stricter gun laws, not one Repubilcan had anything to say. Not a single word, no opinion, no views, nothing. For a whole week this went on. A week later LaPierre makes his statement calling for more guns, and suddenly every Republican has the same opinions as the NRA.
