Energy secretary resigning from Obama Cabinet

Washington (CNN) – Energy Secretary Steven Chu will resign from President Barack Obama's Cabinet in coming weeks, he told Energy Department staff in a letter on Friday.

Chu, who turns 65 this month, was a leading advocate in the Obama administration for alternative energy development, making him a target of the fossil fuel industry and its conservative supporters in Congress.

".... Chu, who turns 65 this month ..."

I'm guessing that (among other ... er, thoughts) this is a fancy way of stating Chu is retiring from politics?

So, yes, I agree: Journalism. None

GOOD! • Another leftist fascist whoses idea of "science" is that we should all be riding bicycles and using the Clivus Multrum composting latrines instead of flush toilets. Anyone who dissents, they say - while adjusting their healing crystals for emphasis - is "afraid of science."

Folks on the rigfht need to understand that the Energy Secretary is supposed to look at all forms of energy production, not just fossil fuels. The post is not supposed to be one that promotes fossil fuels to the exclusion of others.

Another example, and a prime example of how far out of touch the liberal idealogues are with current reality. He is just the middle man for the executive branch of government to launder money to its freinds and benefactors through bogus grants for energy solutions that are anything but. I doubt you can expect any improvement whoever his successor is.

At a point in our nation's history where we need a leader more than ever.............we get a politician concerned only with his legacy and his agenda to move this country in the wrong direction..........Let's be honest, he didn't win by a sweeping margin, so there are just as many Americans who feel he's on the wrong path..........taking from those who have and giving it to those who have their hands out.......punish the successful, reward the ungrateful............ECONOMIC PATRIOTISM................PLEASE................see how much of their own $ they're giving up freely............that's what I thought.................I truly feel sorry for the generations to come...............

You are correct Rudy, but the media is not supposed to be a machine to ensure that people "think the right way" yet we saw it with FOX and now that C N N has adopted thier approach. How can a company, whose bottom line is to be profitable, ever be unbiased in its coverage of events and its "analysis"? The simple answer is they cannot. I would gladly welcome solar and wind and tidal power generation to the exclusion of fossil fuels, but electric cars are a step backwards. Hydrogen fuel cells are more promising, yet no one really knows much, if anything, about them because this man did not do his job.

He can only do what is permitted by the size of his budget. If there is no funding for fuel cell research, then no fuel cell research takes place.

@Moose – Your comment would be worthwhile if it were not completely false. Out of the 30+ companies that received support, only a handful went sour. It's a batting average for investing in fledling companies that most investment bankers would be envious of – but why let reality interfere with your politically driven fantasy world.
