(CNN) - The Arkansas House of Representatives has overwhelmingly passed a measure that would allow concealed guns to be carried in churches and houses of worship, and the governor's office says it plans to sign the bill.
The measure, which passed 85-8 on Monday, gives houses of worship the option of allowing concealed weapons.

All priests should be packing heat. Hey, they have a lot of room under those loose robes, sufficient to carry an AR15, and nobody the wiser. Never know when serving communion to grandma, when the old lady pulls out a Glock. Better to be prepared. -WLP
Some of these comments make it sound as if the mere presence of a gun in a building means someone will get shot.
Hallelujah! Bang! Bang!
Amen! Bang! Bang!
Can I get a witness? Bang! Bang! Hey, I said can I get a witness? Hello? Where is everybody?
And these people claim to follow the teachings of Christ?
It's disappointing at how often the term "ignorance is bliss" applies to the radical right.
So, is the logic here that if crazy mentally ill people or anyone hell bent on shooting up a church, will think twice doing so because there might be some gun toating parishiners inside packing some heat of their own? If so, let those caught in the cross fire rest in peace.
Another reason to avoid going to church
Matthew 26: 52 "Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword "
Revelation 13: 10 "he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword"
THE WORD OF GOD -Revelation 19: 13 – is the Sword of The Spirit (Ephesians 6: 17; 1st Thessalonians 5: 9)

So what?
Only a few states allow this. I doubt allowing concealed weapons in churches is going to convince more people to attend services. If anything, more people are disavowing organized religiohs, so allowing concealed weapons is neither here nor there.
Yawn...on the next article.
Well they better make sure that every child in Sunday school also gets a gun, or the NRA (Not Really All-There) people won't be happy.
Praise the Lawd! - BANG BANG!!!!
The GOP/Teatroll holy political trinity: God Guns and Gays.
You know, if laws like this truly reflect the thinking of the Republican Party, "Stupid Party" (Jindal) doesn't even begin to cover it.
Guns in churches? Insanity! Absolute freakin' insanity!
And yet they will be screaming about public safety the second a Muslim carries his AR-15 into his mosque for prayer......oh, Gurgyl, these idiots are the ones you shop with,go to the movies with, etc: your lot are making it impossible for anyone to feel safe. Why, even a gun range is no longer safe, and that's filled with good guys ( according to Wayne LaPierre**********Cue heroic music***********).
But why would you need guns if god is going to protect you???????
BTW, these religious people can't even make up their minds on when life supposedly begins...and I am suppose to be concerned about a few people sitting in a church with their concealed guns?
Hoo haa!
This is just furthering the fantasy that so many so-called Christians have about themselves and their faith: That there is somehow a "war" on Christianity, when in fact, their faith is so weak they can't handle anyone believing anything besides their rigid dogma.
All-knowing, all-powerful God and Jesus will somehow "let" these churchgoers be slaughtered in their pews?!?
How does these folks keep their heads from exploding?
"How does these folks keep their heads from exploding?"
Their tinfoil hats come with adjustable leather straps. Those straps also help said tinfoil hats stay on during the most virulent of their ideological tantrums, such as after a lengthy Limbaugh listening sessio, which sometimes leads to gran mal seizures when large parts of the cebral cortex simply die from the cognitive dissonance created by their partisan idiocy.
Collections must be down at churches here in Arkansas.....nothing says tithing like a six gun on your hip......can't afford to donate now because of the high price of ammo......damm you Obama...
I guess when the shooting starts, God will sort them out.
