Washington (CNN) - The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops does not support the Obama administration’s revised proposal for providing insurance coverage for contraception, saying it falls short of addressing concerns about religious freedom.
In a response to the policy update announced last week by the Department of Health and Human Services, the church leaders said the policy offers “second-class status to our first-class institutions in Catholic health care, Catholic education and Catholic charities.”

I hate to have to tell the Catholic Bishops, but if "Catholic" health care doesn't include full reproductive services for all patients then it *is* second class health care. But then the Bishops have been making it very clear lately that they don't really care about providing real health care or supporting the religious freedom of individuals or tending to the spiritual needs of their parishioners. They just want to be obeyed by anyone and everyone over whom they might be able to exercise a little bit of power, Catholic or not. It's patriarchy at it's worst, freedom for me (without accountability, of course) but not for thee. Flock, indeed - only sheep would accept "care" like that.
If they want to be totally exempt, then don't run hospitals and colleges that anyone can work, learn and be treated at. Since anyone can go there, then you have to deal with the public and follow the same rules. I can't recall anyone going to a church to get their appendix out. How many hospitals do people go to pray? We need to think of it like that.
Well maybe they should be more worried about all the innocent lives that they have destroyed throughout the ages and the apostate vatican papal system that they have created which is leading their laity to he!!. These self righteous usurpers of the Almighty and man have not a shred of moral legitamacy in this argument. They are nothing more than False Prophets usurping the legitamacy of the true apostles in order to appear religious and holy. Inside they are truly ravenous wolves. This vatican papal system is the true antichrist system that has come into the world, doing the bidding of their master, the truly covering cherub.
Who cares!! They should be all for free contraception for all the little boys they use to get their fantasies off with. Perverts!!!

I found your post unnecessarily offensive and I am not easily offended. I am speaking as a woman who just felt like another woman got mauled in front of her simply for expressing her opinion.
Then the catholics bishops need to pray, an then talk. About what can obama can an cannot do. What can the catholics do to solve the gun problems, let the step up an do or say something that can help the gun laws.
You all may have wanted to more strongly voice this BEFORE the election. THe other candidate was planning on scrapping Obamacare. Elections have consequences.

Funny. The Nazis outlawed abortion and the Catholic hierarchy praised Hitler. Who needs correction now?
But it that's not enough for you, tell a woman with an ectopic pregnancy, or any of hundreds life-or-health-threatening complications, that abortion is not a reproductive health service. Offer to pay their future medical bills, or to support their surviving children, since you are so interested in making their health decisions for them.
