Palin urges Obama to express condolences for slain ex-Navy SEAL

(CNN) – Sarah Palin said she hopes President Barack Obama "pays his respects" to the slain former Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, who was killed at a shooting range by a fellow veteran on February 2.

In Dallas for the funeral, the former Alaska governor said she and her husband "find it sad to see that flags aren't flying at half staff for this American hero."

"We're surrounded today by American patriots here in Texas – by Chris' fellow veterans and active duty warriors," she wrote on Facebook Monday morning. "In honor of them, I hope our commander in chief pays his respects in some gesture of condolence for their comrade in arms who sacrificed so much to keep him and all of us safe."

Kyle, who was 38, served four combat tours in Iraq and received two Silver Stars, among other commendations. He left the Navy in 2009. He was most known for declaring himself the "most lethal sniper in U.S. history" with more than 150 sniper killings in Iraq, which he described as a record for any American.

"We may never know to what extent Chris kept us free or how many lives he saved by his brave actions in the line of fire. But his fellow warriors know how important he was," Palin wrote.

Shortly after his death, Palin wrote on Facebook that she had lost a friend. She explained that she and her husband, Todd, first met Kyle in Pella, Iowa, when he helped out with security for the premiere of "The Undefeated," a documentary about Palin that debuted in June 2011.

"Later we became friends with Chris when he was on 'Stars Earn Stripes' with Todd," she said, referring to the NBC reality show in which competitors took on missions based on military exercises.

"Chris was a wonderful man, a good friend, and a true American hero who loved our country and served honorably," she continued. "He was loved and admired by so many, and he will never be forgotten."

Palin has officially lost whatever might have been left of her mind. She needs to close her offensive mouth and pay more attention to her own backyard. She has no idea what Obama might have or have not done. He doesn't require the spotlight for every sincere action.

Good old Sarah, you paid your respects and that was nice but we have so many american heroes and believe me we mourn for all of them. No disrespect but if we were to go half staff for all our heroes the flags would remain on half staff 75% of the time if not more. I am pretty sure Obama is sadden by his death also so why don't she just go home and hunt moose and take her mouth with her.

If Sarah Palin were born into a world where everything worked exactly the way she has said things should be, she would not be content to sit around and enjoy the atmosphere.

hundreds of veterans die each year ..im sure as commander in chief the president mours each one .. he doesnt pick and choose particular active or veteran soldiers for political purposes .. Palin is a sad example of a patriot shame on Sarah for her ignorance and grand standing for political purpose

Paying respect eh .... hmm, if she has something to say to the President, she should just call him instead of using a lame reporter to publish this ridiculous and all too frequent complaining from this girl. She's so sad and the reporter who chose to print this is equally sad

Palin using the death of a hero for political reasons...what a shock. She's as every bit as bad as that preacher from Kansas that protests at soldiers funerals.

Palin couldn't even run the state of Alaska without quitting, and now she wants to give the president advice? I'll bet if this veteran had of opposed Palin, she wouldn't be anywhere near his funeral. And if there wasn't a political point to be made, she wouldn't have been near the funeral anyways. Palin needs to just slink back in the cesspool she crawled out of.

This is stupid. Who cares what she thinks? Just frickin stop it! Stop breathing life into this Frankenstein monster. Why don't you post a poll about how many Americans would like for her to disappear? That'd be better reading

Sarah is missing the limelight! Our Commander in Chief honored a veteran from Minot, North Dakota, today at the White House. Oh Sarah, you should have run for President, in 2012! WHY didn't you and the Trumpster run against Obama/Biden???? YOU could have SAVED THE WORLD!!!! NOW that you don't have that high-profile job at Faux News, WHY don't you do something constructive with your time–like helping families with Special Needs children? I recall you making mention of that during your infamous VP Elect speech, back in August 2008.

Let me get this straight. To help someone overcome battle fatigue and mental anger, you take them shooting? Not a good idea IMO. Regarding Sarah, Dick, Donald and Newt, I find it amazing how these people seem to never go away or die. LOL. They will probably out live all of us and say stupid things, even on their dying bed. Funny, but good people always retire young or die early. Go figure.
