Palin urges Obama to express condolences for slain ex-Navy SEAL

(CNN) – Sarah Palin said she hopes President Barack Obama "pays his respects" to the slain former Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, who was killed at a shooting range by a fellow veteran on February 2.

In Dallas for the funeral, the former Alaska governor said she and her husband "find it sad to see that flags aren't flying at half staff for this American hero."

"We're surrounded today by American patriots here in Texas – by Chris' fellow veterans and active duty warriors," she wrote on Facebook Monday morning. "In honor of them, I hope our commander in chief pays his respects in some gesture of condolence for their comrade in arms who sacrificed so much to keep him and all of us safe."

Kyle, who was 38, served four combat tours in Iraq and received two Silver Stars, among other commendations. He left the Navy in 2009. He was most known for declaring himself the "most lethal sniper in U.S. history" with more than 150 sniper killings in Iraq, which he described as a record for any American.

"We may never know to what extent Chris kept us free or how many lives he saved by his brave actions in the line of fire. But his fellow warriors know how important he was," Palin wrote.

Shortly after his death, Palin wrote on Facebook that she had lost a friend. She explained that she and her husband, Todd, first met Kyle in Pella, Iowa, when he helped out with security for the premiere of "The Undefeated," a documentary about Palin that debuted in June 2011.

"Later we became friends with Chris when he was on 'Stars Earn Stripes' with Todd," she said, referring to the NBC reality show in which competitors took on missions based on military exercises.

"Chris was a wonderful man, a good friend, and a true American hero who loved our country and served honorably," she continued. "He was loved and admired by so many, and he will never be forgotten."

It is really amazing that even our media/news outlets don't get it. They continue the BS from people that are irrelevant and continue to divide this country by putting stories on their internet and TV outlets. Everything we get is partial truths; there is no true investigative reporting any more. These news outlets just copy each other’s stories and put their own spin on it (Most of it not true).

I thought that Sarah Palin had gone on vacation and looking at Russia from her back yard. No one cares what she thinks.

    Ex-SEAL shoots 160 people and he's a hero.

    Ex-Marine shoots ex-SEAL and he's a murderer.

Could've sworn the book said "Thou shalt not kill." Period. Don't recall any caveats or conditions.

The idea comes from the worst possible source, Palin, and should viewed with a jaundiced eye. He will be buried with full Military honors, isn't that enough? I'm sured he would be fine with that, being honored by his peers.

I could care less about Palin. The reasons I will never be a liberal were displayed on the comments following on the ticker after Kyles death. They were disgusting trash and nothing any these slime balls would be brave enough to say in the face of our service men. Those kind of people make me sick. If you hate America enough to trash our military people be brave enough to protest so we can dialogue and see your face. We want to take pictures of it for our children on what never to be. – low life

Chris Kyle was a great SEAL. His accomplishments as a sniper are of legend. However if we put the flag at half staff for every one of the brave young people who fight for us then I'm afraid the flag will never see the top again. Sorry Sarah, we don't lower our flag for someone because you and Todd loved him and he was your friend. However, I think the truth is that Sarah is a moron who will say and do anything to keep herself in the news, including trampling on other peoples grief. I wonder if she was at her good friends funeral?

Is it me? Or, have Republicans- especially those of Graham's and Palin's cloth suddenly become incredibly touchy about American deaths? You'd think after sending our soldiers off to war in two countries where thousands died, (and calling for at least four more wars) they's have figured this death thing out. Worse, after partaking in the slaughter of at least 125,000 Iraqi citizens they might have some concept of the irony of their sudden concern for human life.
    Or, is it just politics?

Proving that the lady knows not when she is no longer heard...Fox fired you, you are no longer a comentator. When did you present medals to our heroes like what the President is doing today. What, no kudos on that? Your 15 are up, please leave the stage now. Oh and by the way, no one saw your running your bony butt to his funeral either, Motormouth.

Hundreds of vets die every single day, sad but true.
All of the men did the job they were paid to do.
And all of them saved as many lives as your buddy
did, in one way or another, so don't go putting any one
person on a pedestal, they all did their best!
Damn girl, give it a rest!

Why the heck is this failure who couldn't even complete one term as a governor, was so bad as a VP candidate she almost single-handedly destroyed the ticket, and can't even hold down at a job at FauxNews, desecrating this hero's funeral? She's a NOBODY - a NOTHING.

I am from Michigan and when we have a fallen soldier, our governor declares flags be at half-staff for a certain number of days. It is very rare for the President to do this. Maybe Palin should be talking to the Governor of TX!!! Rick Perry!!!

Palin is there only because Chris Kyle helped her with her show, and appeared with her crude husband, on that stupid
    "Stars Earn Stripes".
She is heartless and cold. If she wants to "mourn" her friend, do it in silence and with dignity, two words
that have never entered her cluttered mind.
She has no sense of decency.
I'm afraid CNN is going to hire her. If so, I will send them to the dump alongside Faux.

Regardless of the actions the President takes, it would be wrong in the opinon of Palin and too many members of her party. It is always "lets see what the President does or says so we can say or do the opposite. No thought or reasoning, just do the opposite.

What is with these comments I hope you went after the president the same way. He used innocence. This guy deserves our respect. Do you realize this guy had to cope with all of his sniper kills and still had time to help a fellow serviceman. The demons that he would keep him restless the rest of his life. He had already given his life to us. And what he had left he was giving to someone else.
