High stakes for Rubio's high-profile response to Obama

West Miami, Florida (CNN) - Sen. Marco Rubio's selection to speak right after the president's State of the Union address marks another milestone in the swift rise of the political star.

Rubio became Florida's speaker of the House at just 35, he pulled off an upset victory over Gov. Charlie Crist in the U.S. Senate race in 2010, he was seen prominently campaigning with GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney last year, and he is already talked about as a future contender for the presidency.

Hi, I'm Mark Rubio, and I couldn't carry President Obama's boots, but I'm going to regurgitate a bunch of GOP talking points that were written before the President even gave his address.

And after, we'll be figuratively planting his head on one of those stakes Game of Thrones style, have no doubt. Go ahead, whine about liberals fighting fire with fire...your IOKIYAR tears sustain me.

    Can you say TOKEN?

The GOP in a lame attempt to appeal to Hispanic voters put up a tea party darling who happens to be a Hispanic to deliver the GOP response to Pres. Obama's State of the Union address.

    Here's what he'll say...

"My parents came to this great nation looking for a better way of life...Washington spends too much (of course we didn't care about that when Republicans controlled both ends of PA Ave. from 2000 to 2006)...freedom this, freedom that...big government is bad...blah, blah, blah...

    Marco Rubio:

He won his race in Florida with only 48% of the vote.

He lied for years about his parents escaping Castro's Cuba. Actually, they left several years before Castro took power. They came to the United States for the economic opportunities that are here – just like all the Hispanic economic refugees that Marco works every day to help 'keep out'.

He was born in the U.S. while his parents only held 'temporary visas' – he is the prototype 'anchor baby'.

He walked away from a home he was buying in Florida when the value went 'underwater'.

He was a Mormon – then a Catholic – now he takes his family to a 'Southern Baptist' church.

Tales from his college days have him 'in the closet'.

This could go one of two ways, tonight. Either Rubio will shine and actually come out as the leading contender for 2016, or he will have jumped his shark by overextending in his official response, and manage to turn off enough of the party that they actually look to someone like Rand Paul. If that is the case, can I please order my tickets for Hillary's inauguration now?

"Rubio conceded the error, but rejected the suggestion that the revelation diminished his family's status as political exiles, or that he had embellished his family history."

What is his family's "status" after all? My grandfather on my fathers side, and my great grandmother on my fathers side both immigrated from Eastern Europe. My grandfather (the immigrant) married my grandmother (the daughter of an immigrant). Guess that makes me a second generation American once removed. But I digress. What I wanted to point out in this "who is better than whom battle of the genealogy" is that my family has no documentation proving that either my grandfather or my great grandmother ever became legal citizens. Thank goodness neither of them were deported.
Better to be a American peasant then to be a European-bloc peasant ... yes?

Rubio Nugent in 2016. An anchor baby and a draft dodging chicken hawk pretty much sums up the GOP.

Rubio might as well go on the attack – as he is most likely to do.
Because Rubio has nothing to lose.
Because Rubio has nothing to offer.
Much like the Republican Tea Toilet Party.

Rubio's Tea Toilet Handlers have slipped him several 3×5 cards listing their Rape ideology against women. If Rubio wants the Christ Fascist vote in 2016; he'll have to somehow incorporate the GOP Rape Doctrine into talking about the economics of disregarding poor white voters who vote Republican.

Rubio is a good speaker, and a popular face for the GOP at the moment. Saying that, the second he strays into saying anything positive on Immigration reform, the TEA Party with jump him- ironci as they helped elect him. The GOP may in fact want to move "forward" , but their Frankenstein's monster of the TEA PParty won't go quietly. Especially when "scrath n' sniff" Paul pipes up with the TEA Party response (UFO's? conspiracsies? Big Foot?).

Which Party had the cow over trying terrorist in American courts- forcing Gitmo to remain open?
    That would be the GOP.
Who has opposed any sstimulus spending, or hasn't passed a single employment bill in Congress?
    That would be the GOP.
The GOP meanwhile politicises every American death, yet conveniently forgets the Reagan disaster in Lebanon, or even 9/11.
Face it the GOP is the screw-up party that won't do anything to fix the mess they made.
    They're un-American.

Good! Then the rest of the country can learn what we in Florida already know: rubio is an unintelligent, lying, mouth breathing piece of excrement. Considering there are more registered Dems than rethugs in Florida, and considering the number of rethugs who stayed home the last three election cycles he wouldn't be stinking up D.C. if Florida actually had fair districts. Older elected officials of their party are horrified at this new crop of ignorants whose motto is "we don't even want to learn the rules of procedure, much less follow them".

so is this a GOP response or a tea party response.? Sounds like a bunch of repos just wanting another chance to be in the spot light and attack the president. How can they have already responded to a speech not given??? Rubio is a token . If Nugent opens his mouth at the State of the union speech I hope some one clobbers the draft dodger. He should not be allowed to go. So much for the republican party wanting to work with the president. Another attempt to under mind our president.

He has no chance with latinos.
