(CNN) - Sen. Marco Rubio stopped for a drink during the GOP response to the State of the Union - and the moment immediately went viral.

Even Rubio himself acknowledged the awkward break in his speech on Twitter.


Others on Twitter ribbed the Florida senator for stopping his speech to reach for the water bottle.

    It is so funny that everything the republicans try to do in the president something happens to discredit them, actually quite hilarious that from his speech the watershed incident will be the only thing people remember. On the "This Morning Show" congressman Ryan actually called himself giving Rubio advice about using a cough drop during speeches when he himself drank about a gallon of water during the VP debate! Rubio proved lastnight he is not ready for primetime. He had the nerve to speak about how government helped him and his family in this country make it and then in the next breath criticized others for doing so. He is just another casualty on the republican battlefield, just like Jindal! LOL
