Even Rubio himself acknowledged the awkward break in his speech on Twitter.

Looked like an unconscious bodily response to delivering a speech he knows is based on a false dogma. Similar to those involuntary reactions that betray a liar taking a lie detector test. He is being used by the right in attempt to portray them as tolerant of diversity and knows it, and it revealed itself tonight.

Rubio's lame, but why is everyone making such a fuss about him reaching over to grab his water? Is it because it wasn't right in front of him, within easy reach? Is THAT all it takes to start an internet yapfest of this magnitude?
After watching the State of the Union, a serious and well-delivered speech, I was very pleased to see the comedy sketch afterwards offered up by the republican party. Thank you Marco.
I could care less about the water, that issue is just plain silly. What I have issue with is that there was nothing new in his speech, it could have and should have been given before the election which they LOST big time. It is the same old same old from the party that has no answers to our pressing problems. The GOP complains that Dems blame President Bush for everything, well Rubio blamed President Obama. I also wondered whether Rubio even read the president's speech as his speech had little to do with what the president said, it was just a rehash of all the usual GOP talking points. If this man has a future in politics outside, or even inside Florida, he really needs to step up his game. Someone earlier said "peak too early"? Well, certainly could be.
