Marco Rubio's dry mouth moment

(CNN) - Sen. Marco Rubio stopped for a drink during the GOP response to the State of the Union - and the moment immediately went viral.

Even Rubio himself acknowledged the awkward break in his speech on Twitter.

Others on Twitter ribbed the Florida senator for stopping his speech to reach for the water bottle.

Ari Fleischer was probably the source of hot air in the room where Rubio was speaking. Ari, along with the likes of Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Mike Hucklebee, Karl Rove, Dick Cheney, and the staff of Fox News create lots and lots of hot air and no substance.

Rubio tell the people why you was selected to give GOP response to State of the Union. Do you think the GOP would have selected you if the president was a republican. Why do the GOP keep on saying big government when you are part of the government. If we eliminate your job is that cutting big government so why are you in office.

Just think Rubio finds this fair and good policy (+ his GOPher buds):

Lets says Senior Rubio CUBAN floats across the Florida Straights in a inner tube (90 miles) and touches his toe to any dirt, rock or sand belonging to the USA – BINGO PAY DIRT, DING DING DING LOTTERY – Temp Government housing, check, home loan, job placement and you name it more benefit.

Now lets say Monsieur Etienee HAITIAN floats across 750 miles of ocean and touches his toe to the same land Senior Cuban does – BUZZZZZZZZZ YOU LOSE, DONOT PASS GO- DO NOT COLLECT $200 BUT PLEASE PLAY AGAIN – and after a nice long stay in a detainment camp – ALL ABOARD cause da boat gona tak you bak tu HAITI.

Same with any other REAL immigrant. Mr. Rubio you are no immigrant but you are a TOOL in more ways then one.

Must be a slow news day if all CNN & CBS has to concentrate on is someone taking a drink of water.

I thought Rubio would be a credible counter point to the President but it seems the GOP is playing amateur hour with their choice of leaders.

After spewing those dried up old responses to this president it's no wonder he didn't have to take a drink, I'm surprised he didn't have a water cooler next to him.

That's it? That's all the CNN political department thinks is important? Obama has a watershed and Rubio is all wet. Thanks for the unbiased approach. What about the cost? What about the debt?

He seemed to be stumbling over his words and slurring others. Has he not had any practice at giving an address?!?
And stopping for that drink of water during the biggest and most widely viewed speech of his career?? really? Was it a commercial for bottled water??

The GOP better make sure hes better prepared if they consider him 'a rising star', because he'll be crucified by his own party during the primaries before he even faces off against a democrat!

Kinda sad to witness that Not Reasy for Prime Time performance. That was not the time for the pause that refreshes. Can't you just see Lincoln going," Four score and" (pause for drink) or Martin Luther King, "I have a dream...damn, I need to hit the Perrier". Trotting out the newest young non-white flavor of the month to follow this president is like being volunteered to take the stage after Led Zeppelin. Following the President's SOTU speech is like appearing on Jerry Springer. It's destined to be a train wreck.

Instead of a response, I heard a lot of whining, a lot of critizism of the President, not what the Gop will do, at best i judge it as a 9th grader speech.

This is what passes for news in 2013? Hard hitting stuff, CNN. Did you notice the dramatic pause around the 5 minute mark? that was pretty interesting too.
