Marco Rubio's dry mouth moment

(CNN) - Sen. Marco Rubio stopped for a drink during the GOP response to the State of the Union - and the moment immediately went viral.

Even Rubio himself acknowledged the awkward break in his speech on Twitter.

Others on Twitter ribbed the Florida senator for stopping his speech to reach for the water bottle.

Hwy, Rubio, awk-ward. BTW, Repubs,, he's not REALLY Latino; he's Cuban. Other Hispanic groups generally don' like the Cubans because they've had an easier go of it in the U.S.

This just in! A politician giving a speech pauses to take a drink of water! Good Lord! I guess if you can't or won't debate the content of his remarks you post things such as this and call it news.

So...it's safe to say that he was moments away from foaming at the mouth. How poetic that drink of water was for all of America to witness.

I'm a registered Republican who voted for President Obama. I'm totally ashamed and embarrassed by the current leaders of the Republican party. Why is it every time I hear a speech delivered by these leaders it sounds as if they are reading from a book, and the tone for which they deliver the speech sounds fake as if they are trying to earn sympathy from those they are directing their message to. They, the Republican party, are doing no justice for those who bare the values for which we believe in.

As a Republican, I support the President and the plan he has for us, and I feel we should trust him and do what's necessary help rebuild America. He's done an excellent job thus far and it shows.

As for Sen. Marco Rubio, don't quit your day job. Enjoy it while it last. :(

This news worthy because ? No wonder most people distrust and dislike the media. We don't need to hear about flies or water drinking. So much for "All the news worthy to print".

What is the matter with all of these Republican candidates who continuously make fools of themselves. The GOP slide just continues.

Good for Marco Rubio giving the world a good example. Drink water when your body asks for it.

We need to emphasize that the world should have bottled and running water. Let's make it happen!

Sense of fair play here folks. Obama had a glass of water that he used...only difference is he got to take a sip whenever he was interrupted by all the meaningless standing ovations the democrats gave him. Advice to Rubio's handlers would be that he should have had a glass of water sitting right next to him, instead of making him reach for it off camera.

That's OK, Marco. People should keep "the main thing, the main thing." You commentary was excellent and THAT was the main thing!

As usual when Americans can focus on something that matters, they choose instead to focus on this. No wonder we have to import H1B workers to fill our professional level jobs.
