Obama on the links: Did the lessons pay off?

Palm City, Florida (CNN) - President Obama, fresh off lessons from a top golf coach and a round with Tiger Woods, took to the course for a final time on his Florida private trip Monday.

There were no celebrities or golf experts in today's foursome. The president played for a third day in a row with Trade Representative Ron Kirk, as well as longtime Chicago friend Eric Whitaker, and White House travel director Marvin Nicholson.

While the White House didn't allow media coverage of any of his rounds on the trip, a CNN team was able to capture Obama playing part of two holes. Wearing a dark windbreaker and a hat, Obama took several practice swings before most of his shots.

Did the lessons from Woods' former coach Butch Harmon, and a round Sunday with one of the world's top golfers pay any dividends? There was no word on how the president played overall. But like all golfers trying new things, he found not all improvement happens overnight. He hit one shot from a sandtrap near the green onto the rocks and into the water.

After three days at the exclusive resort, the Floridian, on a holiday weekend break, the president was returning to Washington Monday evening.

It would be more appropriate if Obama took some lessons in leadership and humility!

No father of daughters should ever be seen with Woods. It sends a terrible and confusing message to girls. Girls need to learn that guys like Woods are marked – forever- and they need to learn it from their fathers. Very disappointed in the President.

Since Congress is on another break it does seem reasonable that the President should be able to take a break, too. He really never gets away from his job. Some aides are always with him.

Glad to see that there are no nasty messages this time.

This is what is wrong with this country and ensures our political process will be dominated by the wealthy for the benefit of the wealthy. When the SCOTUS ruled unlimited amounts of campaign money is free speech, it ensures that our crooked politicians will always cozy up to the cash so they can maintain their club status. Nobody wants to be kicked out of the club, thats where all the cash is. If you do not get reelected though, you still have a chance to get recycled in the never ending cash cow called public service. This is where your friends that were lucky enough to get reelected come in and find you a job at club D.C.. You could be head one of the departments or be in the cabinet, maybe even get really lucky and lobby for the wealthy while heading a big bank after all D.C. is where it all starts. Golfing with Tiger Woods goes to show that D.C. is about the wealthy for the wealthy and it makes no difference whether you are Republican or Democrat. We need political contributions capped at one man one dollar and we need term limits to ensure that public service is just that.

I'm shocked there are no comments on how much this cost taxpayers or how he is busy golfing to solve America's problems. Where are all the GOPers?

It's amazing how we are still focusing on Tiger Woods and his past transgression. Tiger can't seem to catch a break on the analyses who always look for what happens in the past of most black people. I noticed you didn't do a lot of reporting on Dan Marino and Larry Bird's problems. You still refer to anything or anyone who seems to remind anyone that Tiger had an affair, yet when Marino said it was a family matter you stepped back. Why?

Its very good that our president can take a day off for many stressed out issue he have to face and that he could get some president time without the media following everything he do or say. Its difficult of being in the spotlight at all times.

Why is President Obama playing golf with a man who has NO family values? And what is wrong with Michelle that she would be ok with him spending the weekend with one of the biggest celebrity cheaters??? We have people who work for the government who is about to be forced to take a reduction in pay for 6 months, why is the President not working to fix this? Congress gives themselves a raise and takes money from the American government workers? IS THERE SOMETHING WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE??????

I'm glad the economy is fixed and there are no trouble with jobs so we can focus on golf. Before he left for Florida and his family for Colorado, weren't they just in Hawaii for the holidays? What an absolute failure and hypocritical imposter. He can do stupid stuff like this with impunity because he knows the drooling Left will come up with a million and one excuses for his sorry excuse to anything suppose to be approaching a leader. In fact, let the excuses and reasons why this is alright begin with our Leftist sample here at C n N..........

What hypocrisy! The state of the nation continues on a downward trend and Mr. Celebrity Wannabe is out playing golf, again, and at an exclusive resort. How much is this costing the Américan taxpayers?! No wonder the White House wanted the keep the trip so secretive from the Américan populace!

On the other hand, what else is new???!!!
