Photo: Obama's handwritten notes

(CNN) – A recently-released photo from the White House shows President Barack Obama editing his inauguration address just over a week before delivering it at the start of his second term.

Among the handwritten changes is the replacement of the phrase "not what we look like" with "not the color of our skin," the words he went on to deliver January 21.

"History tells us," he wrote on the pictured draft after quoting the famous opening lines of the Declaration of Independence.

The official White House photo was taken by Obama's top photographer Pete Souza. The caption says Obama was working with Jon Favreau, his outgoing speechwriter, in the Oval Office on January 16.

"i thought this was his idea.."

That would make you wrong. WH only suggested the mechanism, not the details. Congress has only itself to blame for the details of the sequester...which details were described by Boehner as "I got 98% of what I wanted." Not only that, but 2/3 of the vote FOR the sequester was GOP. 2/3 of the vote against it was Dem. All of that aside, polls still show the majority of the populace blaming the GOP/Teatrolls if sequester takes place. The only real reason the GOP/teatrolls are going to let it...and will obstruct any effort to avoid it...is because it will damage the economy while a Dem is POTUS.

The sequester was all of Obama's idea and now it's backfiring on him, fool. Try telling the truth for a change or do you just enjoy lying to yourself and others?

I still find it amazing that Congressional Republican can take a vacation, sit back on their laurels, and find the gall to blame Pres. Obama for the lack of legislative progress on the upcoming sequester deadline. Not only that Republicans have been saying for at least two weeks prior to going on vacation that the sequestered cuts *will* take effect.

When are they going to stop being the "stupid party"?

Democrats voted 95-95 for the bill. Obviously some had reservations, as did 66 republicans. Your spin on the issue is laughable. I guess you'd be best described as a Liberatroll?

Shaking in ... well ... in laughter ... at this latest comment from the gallery of fools otherwise known as Republican squawking parrots.

What's the spin? Approximately twice as many GOPers/Teatrolls voted for it than Dems. Approx twice as many Dems voted against it than GOPers. Those are just facts. Make of them what you will. The point wasn't to shift all blame to the GOP, so don't be defensive. Rather, the point is simply to illustrate that most reasonable people would recognize that such facts put very large holes in the GOP/Teatroll attempt to shift all blame for the sequester to Obama and the Dems.

Now, if you want to talk about why the GOP/Teatrolls SHOULD get the lion's share of the blame, let's get atlking about their BEHAVIOR and the facts that there was almost a deal on the table that got scuttled as a result of Boehner being incapable of controlling the radicalized Teatroll caucus AND his mindless adherence to the Hastert Rule. Their obstruction, ideological rigidity and refusal to compromise are why we're faced with the possibility of sequester. The votes just illustrate why it's existence was a joint folly on the part of both parties....the Dems being culpable for their failure to realize that the GOP/Teatrolls couldn't be trusted and would predictably blow up negotiations.
