Scott Brown has a talented pocket

(CNN) – Former Sen. Scott Brown said he wasn't drunk when he tweeted this: "Bqhatevwr."

The Massachusetts Republican, who was ousted from his seat in November, sparked a round of questions on Twitter last month after posting multiple late-night tweets, including one that seemed to come from some fumbling thumbs.

When asked about that "tweeting thing" by a reporter with the Boston television station, Fox 25, Brown responded: "Anyone ever hear of pocket tweet, pocket dial? I mean it was pretty simple."

"I mean, I have an iPhone 5," he continued, pulling his phone out of his pocket. "If anyone has iPhone 5, the keys are small. It's very, very sensitive."

The bizarre word came amid a series of other unusual tweets responding to critics–and they all had one word in common: "whatever." They have since been deleted.

"@mattinsmrvlle whatever," read one tweet.

Then another: "@BudParsons whatever bud"

Next: "@Erudite_Enigma whatever michael"

Then came the now-infamous garbled term–"Bquatevwr"–which, in the days of rapid catch phrases, quickly became a trending hash tag on Twitter.

He continued to tweet, saying again "whatever" before adding in the another tweet: "Your brilliant Matt."

While the tweets no longer appear on his page, the comments were captured by screen shots online.

The incident came before Brown announced that he would not seek the Senate seat vacated by Democratic Sen. John Kerry, so Brown's name was still buzzing in the Massachusetts political world at the time. He now says he’s considering a run for governor in 2014.

While the tweets fueled speculation that the former senator was drunk tweeting or his account had perhaps been hacked, Brown said it was simply an accident.

His daughter, he said, was teaching him how to use Facebook and Twitter on his phone.

"We were here in the living room and responded to a couple of people and then put it in my pocket," he said in the interview. He added he woke up the next morning and realized it had become a big story.

Asked if it was a really was just a mistake, he said "what else would it be?

"I rarely drink. The last time I was ever drunk was my bachelor party," he added. "I guess no one has ever pocket dialed or pocket tweeted before."

– CNN's Ashley Killough contributed to this report.

Don't be so hard on Brown. That "pocket" tweet is one of the more intelligible things he's ever written or said.

The media simply loves to attack any and all Republicans, while making Obama into some sort of God-like person.

The media has directly lied to the people, more, since Obama ran for office, than at any other time since they blew the election news about Truman winning.

Full quote: "The last time I was ever drunk was at my bachelor party and that was what? — 28 years ago, 27 years ago,"

So again, I ask, will sleeping on the couch because he can't remember when he was married result in a higher rate of butttweets?

I wonder if this could have anything to do with the fact that he will likely run, and potentially win, the senate race in Mass next year. Thanks media for you independence and fairness. Not.

Ah, so that explains why he lost last year. He was just saving up to win next year. Got it.

Aaaaah, another rightie who is entirely misinformed and behind the curve. You guys make life so fun and interesting. Newsflash: he already said he's not running.

Dude, Brown is lying and they didn't even call him out on it. Tweets like that CANNOT happen in the manner he is suggesting. Moreover, Brown brought this on himself by opening his fat yap and lying about how it happened. He likely could've just ignored the entire thing and let it die away. Instead, he decided to lie, which only keeps it in the spotlight.
