(CNN) - It's an invitation one doesn't turn down, as Tiger Woods said: the offer to hit the links with the president.
The golf star said Tuesday that when he and President Barack Obama played on Sunday, they were on the same team.

"He was my partner," Woods told reporters, adding, "we won."
Obama spent the weekend at The Floridian, a coastal resort owned by Democratic donor Jim Crane who also played with the president. Rounding out the foursome on Sunday was U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk.
"He calls up and says, hey Tiger, you wanna play?" Woods recounted, laughing. "No, it's a obviously - there is a process that's involved and I was invited to play. And it was an invitation that certainly you don't turn down and especially being - he's an avid golfer, and so am I so we went out there."
When Obama returned to the White House from his weekend on Monday, he smiled and declined to answer reporters' question about the game. The White House blocked reporters from viewing the president's golf party for the most part, but CNN was able to view Obama playing a portion of two holes on Monday.
On Saturday, Obama may have picked up a few tips for his own game. He played with Wood's former coach, Butch Harmon.
Obama and Woods previously met in 2009 at the White House when the golf star was in town for a charity event.

So vacation in December for the Christmas holidays which is understandable. Comes back in time for the inaguration and then off for another vacation. That is not understandable. What has he done to warrant another vacation. Nothing.
Yes, I heard Bush went on vacation and so on. As our country is flailing and failing our President and our Congress are not at their offices in Washington D.C. working to resolve on national and economic issues. The cup of integrity of running over.
The President and Congress should be limited to and not to exceed 30 days of vacation per year. You don't use it, you loose it.
Honestly, is the President of the United States ever really on vacation. I mean the kind most of us take. No checking email, no attending conference calls, no bagging groceries, no working on the assembly line, etc. People, please stop acting like President Obama (or any former President for that matter) ever really goes on vacation. I am no fan of GWB but even when he was in Crawford, I'm sure he still had to take calls and address situations. (Unless of course, one believes he left Chaney in charge.) Do you really think the country is best served by the POTUS running himself ragged and not taking a couple hours per week to relax? Psychologists and the WH physicians will tell you quite empathically "NO." Grow the frig up. A round of golf take a few hours...and afternoon...on a weekend...isn't going to cause him to miss some magic temporal window of opportunity during which we had our only chance to fix the universe.
And besides, second question, do you really think your arguments are best served by engaging in hyporbole that characterizes a weekend round of golf as a "vacation"? If you do, then please, by all means, proceed...

That's a hoot. Obama took a grand total of between 84-90 days of vacation throughout his entire first term, an average of approximately 21-23 days per year. He falls well belwo your own stated threshhold for complaining. Guess who gets to shut up now.

The President is never truly on vacation. He is on call 24/7-365...daily briefing every day and that important red/black brief case to go....and it doesn't matter which president. It goes with the job! The president's job can be conducted from the Oval Office or from any hole of any golf course in the world. All those we see whining here are unintelligent losers.

He went golfing on a weekend. More pointedly, a weekend when Congress was also in recess. Not a whole lot the President can do sitting and stewing in the White House with Congress out of session that he can't do in-between rounds of golf on the road.
Getting bent out of shape and ranting about the nation's problems and solving them under those circumstances seems to be refusing to take the context of the situation into account.
Or perhaps more simply: What do you expect/want the President to do about the nation's problems while Congress isn't in Washington D.C. to pass legislation? The President can't force Congress to stay, so once they're gone...that's it.

Baby boomer is so right. The president takes his work with him. He doesn't get weekends off either. people like to complain and make remarks but they are mostly politically motivated. His job is 24-7 How many late or middle of the night emergencys does he deal with. WE will never know. This is not an easy job for anyone, of either of political party.
Barack and Tiger teamed up and won? Wow - unprecedented. Next up: Barack and LeBron will take on all D.C. comers in a little two-on-two hoops, or Barack and one of the Williams sisters will team up for some mixed doubles. Is this the President's definition of "fair share"?

Plus, this was a *weekend* getaway. Most of us take off for a WEEKEND and it's not called "vacation." The average American works 5 days a week, gets 10-12 holidays, and 2 weeks (or more) of vacation. In other words, the average American works for about 240 days per year. A President is on call 365 days a year. So basically a President – Democrat or Republican doesn't matter – is entitled to about 125 days of "vacation" just to get down to 240 work days per year, and NO President takes that much time off. (And when a President is away, he still works. He still has his national security briefing, conference calls, etc.)
Yea Right!!! The country is in a tailspin and the clown has been on vacation more in the last year then Bush in his 2 terms. How much does it cost to fly AF 1 to play golf? 200k per hour. Who has been more extravagant then him? We all need to sacrifice....except me. SUCKERS!!!
