(CNN) - The race for governor in Virginia couldn't get any tighter.
Democrat Terry McAuliffe and Republican Ken Cuccinelli both stand at 38% among registered voters in a poll released Wednesday from Quinnipiac University. Another 21% said they didn't know which candidate they'd support. Virginia will decide on a new governor in November.
Those results haven't changed much since January, when a Quinnipiac poll showed McAuliffe at 40% and Cuccinelli at 39%.
"Although the folks in Richmond are paying close attention to the political maneuvering around the governor's race, most Virginians have not yet begun focusing on it," Peter A. Brown, the assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute, said in a statement.
On Tuesday, a source confirmed to CNN that former President Bill Clinton would headline a New York City fundraiser for McAuliffe in March. McAuliffe acted as co-chairman of Clinton's 1996 presidential campaign. Cuccinelli is Virginia's attorney general.
The Quinnipiac University poll was conducted by telephone from February 14-18 among 1,112 registered Virginia voters. The sampling error was plus or minus 2.9 percentage points.

What is the matter with Virginia Democrats? They need to research Cuccinelli's actions surrounding his lawsuits against the then new Affordable Care Act. Compare who were campaign donors and who were the judges presiding over the courts that he selected to hear his case.
