Establishment attacks only make Cruz more popular with supporters

Austin, Texas (CNN) – By the time Republican Sen. Ted Cruz arrived for an event at a gun manufacturing business outside Austin, there was a healthy-sized, cheering crowd to greet him. One constituent even held a handmade sign saying, "Ted Cruz Rocks."

The scene had the look and feel of a campaign event. Except that the freshman senator isn't up for re-election for six years.

Is he doing anything to get the work of the people done? If he can't do that, then vote him out. Speeches are one thing for a Senator to make, getting people to pass his legislation is another.

Ted Cruz is a firm and hearty member of the "old GOP"- you know the one that hate immigrants, is against voter's rights, is obsessed with the female reproductive biology, guns, and thinks economic stability is cut-taxes-and-spend. The GOP Mr. Jindal labelled the "Stupid Party".
As long as the GOP embraces people like Cruz, they aren't going anywhere.....

We need responsible people in Washington. If that includes Cruz, then by all means, celebrate the addition of anyone responsible, in Washington.

Being a freshman senator, to go walking into the Senate and being a parochial antagonist against both sides of the aisle is not a good way to have a long successful career as a US Senator. Doing so may make your constituents happy, but all it really shows is arrogance, ignorance, and intolerance. All of which are qualities that should not be part of a lawmaker.

Mr. Cruz has lost sight of the intent of the Constitution, as defined in teh Preamble. HIs misguided focus only illuminates the mindset and wrong direction being taken by the extreme right wing. The Preamble lays out a vision of our elected leaders being temporary caretakers, overseeing a natino's government for The People. People like Cruz see elected office as an opportunity to rule, instead of as a duty as a custodian.
