Romney: Campaign was a 'roller coaster'

(CNN) - Mitt Romney compared his presidential run to the highs and lows of a roller coaster ride - and, like all rides, it must come to an end.

"We were on a roller coaster, exciting and thrilling ups and downs, but the ride ends and then you get off," he said in an interview with Fox News.

"And it's not like, oh, can't we be on a roller coaster the rest of our life? No, that ride's over," he added.

Romney was the Republican presidential nominee in 2012, and was defeated by President Barack Obama.

It was Romney’s second bid for the White House.

He is a former governor of Massachusetts and also mounted a U.S. Senate challenge to Edward Kennedy in 1994, but lost.

Life off of the campaign trail is "different," he said - and no doubt less stressful and slower paced.

His wife, Ann, was along for the ride and described her husband's bid for office as a type of civic service similar to his service within the Mormon church.

Life since November, she said, has been "an adjustment but it's one that I think we did well."

"It's like we came and stepped forward to serve and the other part of it was an amazing thing, and it was really quite a lot of energy and a lot of passion and a lot of people around us, and all of a sudden it was nothing," she said, seated alongside her husband.

"But the good news is fortunately we like each other."

If only the Republicans were as gracious as the Romneys. Blame the candidate but not the Party. In this case the Party pushed the candidates to the right and when they lost they took no responsibility for their lack of judgement. Those on Fox Network, operatives, Limbaugh, Beck, etc. just blame everyone else. However, they did contribute to the loss by being so negative.

One of the greatest men to run for president. What a compliment that his detractors could only try to make a case that he was too successful and accomplished too much. The o campaign just had to run out the clock trying to make sure people didn't know the real Romney and run a farcical cool-guy/frat-brother releasing the WH beer recipe type of slop to distract the American people.

It's a civic service to go around lying and bashing the duly elected president on national television for over a year? Even at a military installation? Puleeeeeze ! Just like last go around when Mitt was asked why his sons weren't serving the country his response was that they actually are serving the country. By helping him with his first failed campaign. As imperfect as Obama is, thank God Romney lost. Lost big time too ;-) Bu-Bye Mitt.

What passion? She married a mean spirited guy with no core and she protested too much in trying to pass him off as human.

A intelligent and principled man that would have been an excellent President. His understanding of business and the economy would have provided signs of improvement by now.

Yeah, just like a roller coaster - lots of flipping and flopping until the ride comes to an abrupt end. Why is this guy still talking?

The GOP shoved this guy down everyone's throats even though nobody liked him. They paid the media to push him in all the debates, and they still lost.

Romney never had a chance. His campaign was crippled from the start because of the extreme and rigid ideology of Tea Partiers and social conservatives in the Republican Party. He defied conventional wisdom by not moving towards the middle of political spectrum in the general election to attract moderate, independent, women, and minority voters.

Romney – you made your failed candidacy the roller coaster it became with the etch a sketch flip flopping on every position you ever took on every issue. No one could figure you out and that is a good thing because for the good of the country, you won't see Obama outsourcing everthing like you would have done. bye and good riddance. Can't wait to see who the next schmoe the GOP will put up for prez.

Mitt had no chance to win the WH; but he was so arrogant along with the all GOP’ers. He was crashed since the beginning. His comments were absolute “out this world”. I feel sorry for his wife; she has to cope with all his bunch of malarkey

Romney ran a lousy campaign, flip flopped a lot trying to please the republican conservative voters and the voters in the country could see through Romney and did not like what they saw. He lost and there is no need to cover up anything.

It was a really bad ride for Romney. He didn't really understand what needs to be done to help the country.

Mitt another ride? it's a small world.!!
