Romney: Campaign was a 'roller coaster'

(CNN) - Mitt Romney compared his presidential run to the highs and lows of a roller coaster ride - and, like all rides, it must come to an end.

"We were on a roller coaster, exciting and thrilling ups and downs, but the ride ends and then you get off," he said in an interview with Fox News.

"And it's not like, oh, can't we be on a roller coaster the rest of our life? No, that ride's over," he added.

Romney was the Republican presidential nominee in 2012, and was defeated by President Barack Obama.

It was Romney’s second bid for the White House.

He is a former governor of Massachusetts and also mounted a U.S. Senate challenge to Edward Kennedy in 1994, but lost.

Life off of the campaign trail is "different," he said - and no doubt less stressful and slower paced.

His wife, Ann, was along for the ride and described her husband's bid for office as a type of civic service similar to his service within the Mormon church.

Life since November, she said, has been "an adjustment but it's one that I think we did well."

"It's like we came and stepped forward to serve and the other part of it was an amazing thing, and it was really quite a lot of energy and a lot of passion and a lot of people around us, and all of a sudden it was nothing," she said, seated alongside her husband.

"But the good news is fortunately we like each other."

I'm a little mad at Romney! His wife got our whole family fired up about the joy of owning dressage horses so we got one. We've got a little pre-fab garage next to the trailer where we keep old Mitt (we named him "Mitt") and that things eats... well... like a horse. (Hint: Don't feed a dressage horse grits. It gives them gas.) My son started wearing his dressage clothes to school but had to stop because the other kids were picking on him something awful. That was even worse because we home-school. We've been trying to sell Mitt but the only offer we got was from IKEA. Maybe Mitt wasn't such a good idea...

    @a good man.

What Larry L. said. Also Willard had the most lying, deceitful eyes I have ever seen. And a constant smirk on his face. President Obama is a way better man than that phony could ever be.

Hard to win Mr. Romney when you diss 47% of the population and when most of your positions do not benefit the middle class. When someone like you thinks if you pay zero taxes that's supposed to be good for the country, it's no wonder you lost... Yes, you are philanthropic to your church but not to the society in general...

Hey Mitt Robme, I'm still waiting on your TAX RETURNS for the last 10yrs and an apology for your 47% comment; other than that, you and Queen ANNtonette can roller coaster on & off into the sunset to the Bermuda or the south of France!!!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, Larry. In Romney's case, he's set an example that many people aspire to. As far as a business model goes, he was truly a pioneer in the pursiot of profit. He was "good" at it, and turned a "decent' net profit.

Thanks that Romney is not our president. Look what happend with the remenants of some GOPs in the congress in this sequestration stuff. Had they win the presidency as well it would have been a lot more devastating to the all americans indiscriminately.

CNN is a wanna-be fox news any more. yesterday, it was all about Woodward being "threatened". Today it's about Romney. Will tomorrow be another one with Palin? I'be noticed that since fox shut down their comments, their are a lot more haters on this site. All I see in the political section anymore is praising repubs and articles trying NOT to appear like they are smearing the White House. So much for OBJECTIVE journalism. I watched it happen during the campaign too when CNN had ten fluff pieces on Romney to on critical piece on Obama.

Of course he is happy. He has a good partner to share his life with and they have a lot of family to spend time with. A man with close family is always happier. There are too few of us left that actually enjoy working at our marriages, our world is filled with bitter people who get way too involved in things they can't control. Then they wonder why their relationships don't work.

The delicious irony is that Romney only got 47% of the popular vote!

Instead of gaining 12 million jobs, Americans voted to lose 12 million more. Today we know Obama is intent on resurrecting the depths of recession. Unemployment and poverty will increase and America will soon be a key part of the Syrian civil war. Is this what you liberals voted for? Too bad. It's what you got.

Having lived in MA, American is VERY lucky to have avoided electing this clown as our President. He was a disaster in MA, lied about working across the isle (over 500 vetoes). He lied several times during the campaign and needs to just go away and visit his money in the Islands and stay there.

The Romneys' ideal of thrilling is:

    (1) lying to anyone, and everyone
    (2) dissing anyone, and everyone
    (3) gloating to anyone, and everyone

    They got what they deserved.
    Cheap ride. Cheap thrill.

Here goes Queen ANNtonette Robme rambling on again...Comparing Mitt Robme failed presidential bid "as a type of civic service similar to his service within the Mormon church"!!

Remember when Mitt Robme said that his 5 son's helping with his campaign is similar to serving in the military and his own dad walking along side Martin Luther King during the Civil Rights march....and Queen ANNtonette Robme whinning that "this is hard work".......or Tagg Robme threatening to punch President Obama (Well, that's a real threat compared to Bob Woodward fake threat outrage) and the same Tagg Robme telling the American people that his dad "NEVER WANTED TO BE PRESIDENT ANYWAYS"!!!!

The Robme's still dont have a clue!!!!........pls enjoy your TAX-FREE Million$$$ at the expense of the American Tax Payers and yall can STFU!!!

Americans have become blinded by the liberal media's constant protection of Obama. He had no credentials (other than hanging out with terrorists) and yet the media has propped him up like a Savior. Remember how irresponsible and un-patriotic Bush was for Debt, but now 17 Trillion is a good thing? It is funny how governing and solving problems are the last things today's President does.

By the way, get over the tax issue. If Romney didn't pay his taxes, the IRS would have charged him. Also, many democrats also invest abroad. This is a non-issue (like all others) to distract people from what is really happening in the country.

Sorry. Obama created and owns this sequester. It was a failed political trick he bet on thinking that the Republicans would not let defense cuts happen. He was wrong. The difference is that Republicans care about the nation and Obama cares only about his political agenda. But he's in charge. The nation loses on his big bet.

It is unfortunate but not unexpected to see so many nasty comments – some on Romney others on Obama, it does not really matter which – I would not have voted for Romney (and I'm not that fond of OB either) but I was still interested in what he had to say.
