Borger: For Obama and GOP, much to chew over

(CNN) - So it's good to see that the president has finally started calling some Republicans. He's even invited some to share a meal. And not just moderates, but also those who have been his most vocal opponents - like John McCain and his buddy Lindsey Graham.

This, of course, is something completely different. After his re-election, the president was asked about his unusually standoffish behavior with Congress. He took offense.

Yeah, right, Borger. Trouble is – he does all the talking and no listening. Then he can say "well, I tried". Complete and utter crap!

Obama hs proven himself to be untrustworthy and dishonest. Obama needs to PUBLICLY enunciate his plans or proposals for all to see and hear. He needs to lead, which he has refused to do for 4 years. All he EVER says is the rich aren't taxed enough and the answer to all the country's ills is to tax the rich and others already paying almost all the tax load. Obama has to decide if he want sto waste 2 more years on this class warfare BS or if he actualy wants to get something accomplished.

All Obama has to do and sit there and listen. If they come up with a good idea all he has to do and say he doesn't like that. Then they will run with it.

What does she mean, he is finally starting to call some republicans?? The POTUS came into office begging the GOP to work with him, to which they promptly responded by spitting in his face.

I am so sick of the media towing the GOP line that Obama refuses to work with them. I don't ever remember hearing him say, his number one goal is to make the members of Congress, one term Congressmen.

Just tell the truth, the angry white GOP cannot very past their hatred for this POTUS.

    Stop spreading the BS.

You are right, his stated number one goal is the "fundamental transformation of America." And the elected republican officials are doing what they were elected to do, as in stopping as many of his "transformational" policies as possible.

He indeed has asked for the GOP to work with him.

The problem is that Obama's idea of "working with him" is rubber-stamping everything he wants to do. Sorry... that's not compromise – on Obama's part.

    @ Donna

I see you stopped at FOX NOISE first before you posted a fact-less post. Please illustrate to us by giving concrete examples of how the POTUS has "proved himself to be untrustworthy and dishonest." Parroting GOP talking points doesn't count as fact, by the way. Please proceed.

I agree. She's showing signs of Romnesia. Republicans turned up the "boycott Obama" volume to 100% in June 2009. That's when they declared that they would not "participate in the destruction of the American economy" or something along those lines. The Republican "leadership" doesn't even bother to show up for state dinners, not even with our allies. They don't even bother to return phone calls half the time. I could have sworn that I seen her report/remark on *all* of this stuff before.
