Rand Paul hits Obama for playing 'Mickey Mouse games'

(CNN) – The Obama administration's decision to close for tours while at the same time releasing hundreds of millions of dollars in aid to Egypt amounts to political gamesmanship, according to Sen. Rand Paul.

Reacting to Secretary of State John Kerry's move last week to release $250 million in economic aid to Egypt, Paul on Monday harked back to the news that tours of the executive mansion have been suspended as mandatory across-the-board spending cuts take effect.

"These Mickey Mouse games he does, then gives $250 million in addition to the couple billion we already give to Egypt. I think it's a disgrace," Paul said on CNN's "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer."

Later, he offered up what he said were the lessons gleaned from his father's run for president. Former Rep. Ron Paul ran for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination, garnering support from libertarian factions of the Republican Party.

"One thing he did figure out is how to appeal to youth. Youth are captivated by standing on principle," Rand Paul said, pointing to both his and his father's commitment to civil liberties.

Republicans would be smart to adopt some of those principles, he argued.

"The candidates we're putting forward and what we're talking about as Republicans isn't appealing to a large enough group of people. And if we want to be the party from the red states - the red states are getting redder - but the purple and blue states are leaving us behind," Paul said.

Rand is like Jeb running on someone else coat-tails. Both are nut cases. Rand for his policy ideas and Jeb for thinking and saying he thinks history will be kind to his brother W. Jeb doesn't understand historians who bring to light every nuance GWB ever took well as the Cheney baggage.

Rand complaining of Egypt getting foriegn aid its been getting for decades and aid to coutries account for only about 1.2% of the federal budget compared to 20% for defense, nice ha !!Rand and republicans should get their act togther to see what really needs to be cut like embassy security that led to embassy killings and thank Darrell Issa who's committe did the cuts by their design..And cutting SocialSecurity,Medicare should be off the table because they're independently funded by US and not the government ,but that doesn't stop republicans like Reagan from stealing from it as president to balance his budget..If it weren't for these thieves called republicans you'd have no problems with SocialSecurity,Medicare and we'd have over 2.7 trillion more in these programs from the government but they never mentioned it did they!Just read up Rand who the thieves were and you won't be so fast to point fingers will yah!!

"Civil Rights: The civil, equal and human rights women and minorities have gained have been from the Federal Government, without it, many or most would have no vote and would still be bought for dowries or be cotton picking slaves in Alabama. Again, keep in mind what a powerless Federal government will allow the States to do with this issue"

When you released the kraken (Sequester) because you and congress could not agree to a simple balanced budget of cuts and revenue, everything in it's path must go, everything with no exceptions. So Mr. Rand Paul, stick yourself! 😦

If you don't have your freedom, the economy no longer matters. Everyone should be in support of civil liberties.

Senator now you know Calling these Mickey Mouse games is a insult to Mickey! They are Obama games and he has played them since he took office and I for one believe he will keep playing them till he gets his way. You need to keep tryin to do your job and keep things within the realm of reality. Just try and your job and worry about that.

Mr. Paul, tell the GOP to quit copying the movie "groundhog Day" everytime the House propses something "new". It never is. It's always a re-hash of the same old ideas: no revenue, all draconian spending cuts to vital government agencies (except defense), destruction of Medicaid, Medicare and privatizing Social Security, and protection of loopholes for rich people. You could at least get your own Mickey Mopuse Game instead of a "Goofy" game

The problem with having the "youth" like you is that they don't always follow through or vote in the numbers needed. Rand & Ron Paul don't seem to understand that. Nor do they seem to understand that there are so many programs that people depend on that wouldn't be done by the private sector.

Okay Senator, did you even read the sequester bill? Did you understand any of it? Government spending is not fungible. You can't take the $250 million you just gave Egypt, take $2 million out of it, and keep White House tours running. They are different pots of money. The sequester had very specific rules about how and where cuts had to be made. You have to know that, and you're the one playing Mickey Mouse games. So much for standing on principle (unless playing Mickey Mouse games it he principle you're standing by).

Rand, oh Rand... You couldn't carry Mr. Obama's golf bag. You were elected in a midterm cycle riding your dad's coat tails. You do not deserve to be a Senator and God willing, soon you will be out lobbying some other knuckle dragging Republican!

Rand Paul is not nearly as smart or as wise as his daddy. Sadly, Rand is indicative of the Republican party of today - long on ego and bluster but short on intelligence and cooperation.
